so how is support and compatibility of those 2 versions? for old games gog.com makes good services and i read that people get more support there instead on STEAM, so before i get it here i would maybe get it on gog.com, so are there any differences?
Steam is one patch ahead. Still, I finished the game without any major problems before even the first patch came out. Just set the procesor to single core for the time of playing, apply DPFIX and you're golden.

thx a lot, guess i will stick to gog.com maybe cause you people also give support after the game has been forgotten i guess, i missed the sale though :(
so imma wait!
I bought that game one month ago ca. from gog with the patch 1.01 .
I just got random freeze (especially on the hospital) and in order to bypass the trouble i need to restart the PC.
I hope to see a patch 1.02 soon in order to let me play the game without any random freeze

Try disabling multiple cores for the time of playing.

As soon as we get it, we'll get it out to you, that's all I can say atm.
Fair enough. ^_^

Moved on with your investigation, if we're on this topic? :)
I just took another try on that shitty subquest, the only one that stands between me and 100%-ing the game. Failed miserably once again :).

Got sidetracked by MoM but now that I've beaten MoM at least once, I'll dive back into Deadly Premonition :)
Just quick update: I got Steam version from Gala and used it as an excuse to play Deadly Premonition again and see how the versions differ.
I'm in the section right before the final boss in 1.01b and so far:
- Still crashes after long playing. Two crashes so far.
- Targeting still blocks (can't shoot up or down) from time to time. Alt-tabing the game seems to fix the problem.
- Pushing crates works fine, no diagonal movement present in 1.0.
One more thing to check: second stage of the end fight.
If this is anything like the PS3 version then we probably won't see any more updates.

Played all the way through Steam vesion - not much difference between this and the one GOG offers.
