Just noticed, the actual downloaded file is named "patch_dead_state_2.0.2.3" which is even more exciting!
So....
The names different, coincidence, purpose?
Makes me curious....

I certainly noticed that one. I started saving my game every trip so I could reload when this happened.

There are still quite a few other bugs, but at least this is a step forward and nice to know they`re actively working on it.
Hello!

Any news about patch ?

First of all, welcome to the forum!

Secondly, and more to the point, the thread you are posting in is outdated. There is a newer version of the game than what is being talked about here. Additionally, the main installer for the game has been updated to the newest version already. Thus, all you need is the main installer and you will have the most up-to-date version of the game.

The current patch you will find on your game shelf, Patch 1.0.0.194, is only needed if you had already installed the previous version of the game. If you haven't downloaded the game before, or it's been a while since you did so, it would be best to just use the current installer (and uninstall any old versions prior to doing so, if you have them).

Feel free to post again if you have any other questions. ^_^

But...now the Steam version is v.1.0.0.280, as of today. I guess that's the downside of using Gog. You can get a running version of a game from 1987, but not the newest updates for current games.
Nice to see update is available. Hope to be able download this soon. I cant wait to play...

Granted, GOG can sometimes be a version behind Steam in certain instances, this is usually due to the developer being slow in getting the updated files to GOG. Additionally, GOG's internal support team check those updated files and take the time to package them in their own installer, as well as taking the time to create a new main installer so that people who download the game after the fact can get the latest version without having to install twelve patches. Other distributors don't do that and just throw their users to the wolves. I would much rather be one step behind Steam for a few days/weeks and know that the update will be tested and supported than just leaving everything to chance in order to get the updates immediately.

Besides, Double Bear haven't even updated the Dead State website with the new patch information as of the time I'm writing this. I think you can cut GOG a little bit of slack in this instance.

Double Bear's Twitter feed mentions the new patch, and that's displayed on its website's home page. It's how I found out about it, at least. I hope I can soon download it from GOG, as I've been enjoying the game immensely, despite its bugs and aborted alternate endings, but am hesitant to continue playing or replaying it without having the latest update installed.

If we assume that Double Bear has already sent the patch data to GOG, then we should see that update tomorrow. GOG's staff typically takes the weekends off, so that would be the only thing delaying it on their side. If Double Bear hasn't sent the patch data, then no amount of GOG staffers working 24/7 is going to make the patch appear.
