rickjm: Or they could release the game on the all os at the same time and make everyone happy.
I mean they can make the game for osx which is BSD but not for debian/ubuntu/mint?
Is micros*ft and a*pples paying gog to not support linux????
PaladinWay: I don't know if it's true or not, but I've heard that some of the game engines have better Apple support. Apple released some compatibility/conversion tools that are apparently quite handy, and I've been told that's a possible reason why some find it easier to do OS X than Linux.
Thankfully, Microsoft threatened Valve's business model sufficiently that they've thrown their support behind Linux for years and have been pushing Linux support for that. Their proposed "gaming console" that will keep all the same games between generations and runs on your computer as well and that you could buy and already have hundreds of games for will be pretty attractive to enough consumers that it'll become a valuable market. I honestly think that's why we've seen such a big push towards Linux support, and I think it'll only get bigger. Especially once the first crop of Windows 10 users get Microsoft's, "Sorry, your hardware is too old, you get no more security patches. Buy a new computer or enjoy your malware" message and more people start seriously looking at alternatives.
I hope so too, I'm not the crazy about DRM but and and big BUT I think what valve is doing to help push Linux gaming to the next level is GREAT. SteamOS works great though with some bugs but it's still early.
Will this make GOG change there minds about fighting harder for Linux games, who knows.
It really doesn't matter who's fault it is, GOG or the publisher or the dev. I go get it and support who ever has it available for my platform of choice.
I wish it was GOG though!!!! I'll probably wait for DOTT Remastered on GOG hopefully before 2017!!!
