Dear gog.com team,

i have a request for a bonus goodie. Im pretty sure that this game will use the same engine as Monkey Island remastered. So it's possible to switch to the oldskool interface and graphics, but it is only supported for Windows. The original game runs perfect with DOSbox and ScummVM on Windows, Linux, MacOS, iOS, Android, OpenBSD, Sun Solaris, BeOS, and many more obscure operating systems.

so could you please add the original files as bonuscontent? pretty please?

thank you for considering my request.
I'd rather have them as separate purchases actually. Especially if they can get the original out here sooner.
I always appreciate the original files when I feel like playing games how they were when I was younger.

I'd suggest letting Tim know - https://twitter.com/TimOfLegend

Thus far he hasn't explicitly mentioned bringing the original, but if people let him know they will only buy the remake if the original is available, something might changed.
I was still using my grandpa's computer when the likes of Day of the Tentacle came out so seriously I'll take any version I can get.
If I had to guess I would say this is impossible, because they maybe don't have the rights to do that. Wouldn't be surprised if they were only allowed to do this Remastered Version and nothing beyond. At least this is how these things usually go.
Yeah you'd have to ask Disney to bring out the original, Double Fine only has license to remaster the game.

So I guess GOG could still ask Disney to add it as a goodie (as part of their deal with them).

It looks to me as if GOG doesn't have any deal with Disney. GOG has a deal with Doublefine who have a deal with Disney.

GOG has a deal regarding all the other LucasArts games they've released so far (including many of their other adventure games). And I'm sure it's not too far-fetched for them to negotiate a deal to include the original of DOTT as well. I still hope there's more LucasArts stuff coming from GOG either way, as we're still missing some pretty big ones (like "Curse of Monkey Island").

No. This is just the floppy version, which is only partly voiced. And it also requires to own the original version to be legally allowed to play it!

In the case of DOTT it might be but the MM version in it is not. It only has one save and only one language.
