This game will not install properly. The GOG client keeps giving the above error. This happens whether it's a fresh install or whether I do a verify and repair. Rather disappointed that I can't play a game I paid for. All I wanted to do is help out an indy developer with a game that looks really cool ... if it ran.

If anyone knows a fix for this, let me know.

It sounds like there's an issue with your install-file. Have you tried re-downloading the game and trying again?

Yes. I did. As I mentioned, it doesn't matter whether I fresh install it or repair. It always results in a failed installation.

Weird. It could be that the problem is Galaxy related then. Try installing Darkwood without Galaxy through the off-line installer and see if that helps (Games > Darkwood > View Downloads > More > Classic Installer).

I figured it out. Well not really. I still don't know what was going on, but I did get it to install. It apparently did have something to do with the client.

I had kept getting a prompt to update GOG, but when I tried. It would not update. I tried 3 separate times, but it was stuck on v 1.2.12 or something. I completely uninstalled GOG and ran the installer for 1.2.23 and it worked. Once it was running I figured I'd try instlling Darkwood again. And that worked too.

What a headache.
