I've tried the hacks Resolutions ones, were you have to replace a file,
but they mess up the menu and huds graphics.
I rather play it stretched, if forcing it to go widescreen ruins the menu and huds.

Anyone know how to set up dgVoodoo for this game?
Which version of dgVoodoo and settings and files much be moved in?

And is there any Resolution Mods?
Mods or a addon Program boot up
that would let you choose any Resolution?
Something like the Max Payne 1 window setting menu for Darkstone?

With dgVoodoo v2.54 resolution is "changeable" and works okay. What's the problem?

Copy dgVoodooCpl.exe and files from MS to Darkstone. Run dgVoodooCpl.exe and goto DirectX tab.
Set resolution your want, press "Apply". Profit!

But.. One problem. It disable bilinear filtering for me and ingame fonts become pixelated. Maybe you'll have better luck. Very playable, just not perfect.
I tested it on old laptop with Nvidia GT420M. Maybe it will be okay with newer GPU.

So, I still prefer v2.52 in original 640x480 rather then 1080p with such fonts and menus.
v2.53 does not work for me at all, in any resolution.
See screenshots in attachement. If you can live with pixelated fonts, v2.54 is okay. If not, use 2.52 in original 640x480 resolution.

I think I was using version v2.53 but if I try to down load any other version my pc detects it as a virus
as that version was the one I think i had issues with.

That;s why I ask which version of dgVoodoo works well for darkstone.
Kinda wish theres a better way to play Darkstone like mod that gives a setup menu
like how Max Payne 1 have a setting up menu window.

I just ignore all warnings. Until Kaspersky, NOD32, dr.Web and Microsoft antivirus don't complain - I don't care =)
I don't believe other antiviruses, anyway. Too often find a problem on an empty place.
BZW, I used v2.52 "with viruses" for 1.5 years and nothing strange happened with my PC.

"Virus-safe" version, you are mention about, must be v2.54. I noticed, that it's only version that can change in-game resolution in Darkstone without problem with mouse cursor. At moment of this post, at least. So, if your want to change resolution, use v2.54.
v2.52 "with viruses" works great in 640х480 only.

If you have problem with aspect ratio anyway.. goto Nvidia control panel, change scaling to GPU and set save aspect.

It's a shame that they made a Darkstone remaster/remake for mobile phones but not for PC. =(
BZW, Android-version has a "impassable" bug and balance is broken (resurrection and overpowered armor kits for money). And this is not fixed over the years.
So, Android-version is abandoned too. I think that there is little chance that Delphine/VectorCell will fix something in PC-version.

Maybe GOG will fix something in future. On the official dgVooDoo website is written:
"Partnership with GOG has begun! You can expect releases of old DirectX titles being more compatible with modern Windows operating systems"

So, we can expect more compatible dgVooDoo with Darkstone on modern systems. =)
Maybe, they included it in installer once, with some presets for Darkstone, who knows..

Yeah it would be nice to seeing this game have a better video resolution option as a mod, addon or a patch
like a bootup settings window like how max payne 1 and alone in the dark new nightmare have.
I managed to get it to work with proper Fonts etc with Dgvoodoo 2.52.In the "General" tab "Scaling Mode" put "Stretched", in the "DirectX" tab put the following : "Vram" to 1024 (I don't think this one affects it),"Resolution" to 1920x1080 or what you want, don't use the "Antialiasing" from Dgvoodoo, you can use it from the Nvidia Control Panel or what ATI has,in the "Behavior" tab I have checked both options,in the "Miscellanneous" tab only "Fast video memory access" is checked, the rest of the boxes are unchecked. Also use the "-32bit" in the launcher, nothing else(seemed to be more bug free).
I didn't use any fps fixes ,etc and it seems to work great.
