Since the mod is hard to find, it only seemed fair to upload the link here.

By the way, do you HAVE to make the flak missions easier to succeed? Surely with all the cheats installed you wouldn't need the "Fixer.bat"

I haven't gotten there yet - so let me know if I'm sorely mistaken.
You don't have to make them easier, but they can be extremely frustrating if you don't.
I smile every time I see this problem. Why somebody would care if another gamer wants to use this instead of suffering through the FLAK missions is way beyond me. This is a SINGLE PLAYER GAME, so why worry about what someone else is doing on their PCs. Again, IF all one wants is to get through the FLAK missions there is an easier way to do this. And it does not include all the extras that this mod provides.

If you can bust your buns getting through the FLAK missions then that is great. Not everyone gets the timing and ship updates good enough to do these missions, without probably trying over and over and over....etc. Give the person a break for crying out loud and just let it be. Besides, I am not sure the FLAK missions are timed right anyway. Just to note, I play a lot of FPS and RPG games and after a while you begin to see subtle issues in game-play. Some good, some not good. From what I have seen on many forums on DS1 over the years, the FLAK missions are a "not so good".

Just saying...........not everybody can play games the same way. If that were true there would only be ONE game player out there.

Wait, what? Who are you arguing with?
Assuming this is related to my post:

I took another look at musicallie44 post. As I pondered it, I find I could have misunderstood what the post was indicating. The question can be taken at least two ways. Do you have to modify the mission to reduce the number of combatants so you have more time to shoot them down or because your weapons will have enough power to take on what is left without going empty? In other words, Someone might ask, do you really need to use a motorized air pump (i.e. modify the enemy wing parameters), instead of a hand pump (cheats to increase weapon power, duration, ammo count) to fill a tire?

Ergo, the post is possibly not suggesting an issue with cheating but which method would be better (?) to use. I will go with that. If that is the case, ignore this fairly verbose posting.

The other way that I take it is explained in the following paragraphs.

I have read my response over a couple of times and I have come to the conclusion that it is not an argument, nor is it aimed at anyone in particular. Let me know if I am wrong.

It is just an observation I have come to over time reading different posts on different websites. Be that as it may, the issue is not all pervasive. I am simply curious why various folks care about someone else "cheating" if it has no impact on them. For instance, cheating in a multiplayer game is worthy of serious haranguing. Or, someone is cheating on the Steam online games where one receives rewards for completing various objectives. That I could understand. This, not so much.

That is the best, and longest winded way I can explain my post.

I think that's where the confusion is; in this particular thread, no one has made any judgments about the use of cheats on this game. The OP simply asked if it was actually necessary to cheat in order to complete the flak missions or not and I answered it. When I first read your response, I thought you were criticizing me over my response to that question, but that criticism did not seem to make any sense whatsoever in context with the question or answer, so I left it alone.

OK, assuming, again, that I read you right:

Just to be specific, I was actually making a statement of agreement with what you said. You need to read my post more carefully. To make it clear, I was agreeing with this statement:

You don't have to make them easier, but they can be extremely frustrating if you don't.

If you carefully read my post you will see I was mistakenly criticizing musicallie44, for which I do apologize. (Again, assuming the post was just wanting to know if the super ship cheats were not good enough to take on the FLAK missions. I think you need the FLAK fix for when you are using the Research Stations on board gun however as the base mesa mod cheats don't cover that from what I can remember.) Some folks are not aware that the flak-fix needs to be undone after the fight or you will have problems with not finishing a side mission or getting items in the game further on into the story line. That's why I just used the flak hack work around. It is quicker and easier to use if you don't want to bother installing the mesa mod. And I have used the mesa before. I am running the game now with the mesa mod and the game is so easy I am getting kind of bored playing the game. Unfortunately. But, I am committed to finishing the game. It will probably be a while before I play it again.

later..............

Hi all. This mod good. But has few bad options. Shields atr too strong never getting hit in hull WTF!? There are too much starting money max needed at start 100000 or less 10billions?WTF?! thruster engine is good no need for changing. Artifacts per level are bad need 1-5lvls by 1 arts per lvl 6-11lvls by 2 arts per lvl 11-15lvls by 3 arts per lvl 16-20lvls by 4 arts per lvl 21-30lvls by 5 arts per lvl and this would be good. So can someone change configs in mesa mod 1.01 Digital?... and post DL link to one.
this may be a stupid question, but how the heck do you equip the darn missiles? I have the upgrades for the big bang. I have the right size wings. but when ever I click on the missile icon it tells me to left click and nothing comes up! same for changing weapons. I have a secret service weapon but don't know how to activate it. the plasma gen doesn't seem to do much ether.
From what I've read, the problem with the Flak missions is how the game adjusts to the player's level. As you upgrade your ship with the artifacts, the game accordingly makes the enemies more difficult. However, in the Flak missions your weapon power and durability are always set to the same level while the enemies are still set to how powerful your ship is. Thus, if you go around hunting for artifacts a lot before doing the Flak missions, they can end up being next to impossible.

Missiles require you to have a missile launcher.,

Weapons need to be equipped (not just in storage) on your ship. You can only equip a maximum of 6 forward weapons and 5 turrets (depending on your HULL and WING levels).
One thing about the MESAMOD which frustrates me is that after you get max level (10 / 10 / 10 is possible, I think), the game won't let you get the infinite space drive (where you go to the Developer System and fight TeamAscaron). I remember my Xbox save file had that, but can't recall how I can get to it on the PC version, LOL
