Will anyone that already have the original version of Darksiders receive the Warmastered Edition for free like how Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition (which still needs to be fixed, by the way) by meeting certain criteria? Then again, besides having higher resolution textures, the current PC port is a already decent/serviceable port that runs at 60+ FPS already despite the washed out colors (although SweetFX could fix that), bumping up the shadow quality in vanilla Darksiders with a *cfg tweak, random/rare crashes (doesn't happen too often for me) and sort of low-res FMVs. Letting us use both keyboard+mouse and controller instead of only using one or the other when launching the game would be nice.

Also, PLEASE do no take the vanilla version of Darksiders away from the store and our personal library considering the problems Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition has on PC, especially for us on GOG.

I got Darksiders II on GOG before the Deathinitive version was released, and I still have the original on my shelf, along with the Deathinitive edition as a separate entry. So I wouldn't worry about GOG taking it away from your library if you already have it.

But they may stop selling the original after the Warmastered edition is released. I'd guess that's a decision made by the publisher / developer, not by GOG, because they want everyone to buy the latest version rather than an "out of date" version.

nordic should update darksiders 2 on gog first

the last patch was about 10 months ago ... still no sign that we will get the steam patches ever

nordic (gunfire games) is the worst that could happen to darksiders at least on gog ... they just dont care about customers over here

I know that it's been a really long time since the last patch and there are still lots of problems. But are there actually newer patches out on Steam that aren't avilable on GOG? Are the problems fixed on the Steam version? I thought it was a mess no matter where you bought it from...

FFS, there are no new patches on Steam. The game is equally fucked on both store fronts. Nordic has promised a dx11 version, but that is nowhere to be found. What is truly terrible is that I know a user here that has an updated installer that is more or less fixed, but it hasn't been released to the public... and he's had it for several months already.

That's a new information. I tried to find steam reports about black button prompts, and found none. And I don't think Steam users would keep quiet if that was happening to them, so at least in this regard, Steam version is superior to ours. As far as I can tell they never HAD such problem, so no patches were needed for that issue. It's just that GOG got broken build.

No, it's fairly evident when you look at the forum for the game on Steam. The patch and fix threads date back to 2015, with most posts afterward being from users finding things to complain about regarding the game and Nordic & Gunfire's (seeming) inability to deliver on what they claimed they could fix.

Don't bet on it, also fair warning to anyone who doesn't have it or hasn't downloaded it; if you want access to it in the future, go and buy/download it right now. You never know what publishers will do with GOG releases. This might sound paranoid but consider that this (potentially) releases in less than 2 weeks.

SHIT, I didn't pay enough attention, and you were right, darksiders was replaced wit the warmastered edition...I'm so sad now T_T

You can download the original vanilla version no problem. It's in the Files section of the game page in your library.

EDIT: Nevermind, for some reasons galaxy glitched, preventing me from seeing the original version. :P

I don't have the vanilla/original version any more. I looked it up in my library and it was replaced by the new version. In fact it claims the new version is installed on my PC. I can't access the original version period.

Galaxy hides the Legacy version, but you can access it via your Library on the actual site.
