I spoke with a THQ Nordic executive at their booth during PAX West and conveyed the problems that people are still encountering in the GOG version of the game. He was surprised and unfamiliar with the issues, and seemed genuinely concerned about the situation.
I commented that I didn't want to sound rude or pushy, but that I'd like to be able to play/enjoy the game that I purchased, and he responded, "No, I understand. If you bought our game, from GOG or Steam or anywhere, it should be playable and work as expected. We don't want broken versions of our games floating around out there."
He then stated that he would be in a meeting with other significant company representatives later that day and would discuss the matter with them. I can't say with any certainty that I've helped in any way, though it was clear that the exec was troubled by our conversation and didn't want this situation to reflect badly on the company.
Maybe if we continue to pester THQ Nordic and hold them accountable (thanks, ReynardFox) we will see some movement. Or perhaps not. :) There may still be reason to hold out some degree of hope, however.
