I've read somewhere on this forum that you can gain virtue and regain DF by attending mass and going to confession. Are there any prerequisites fort this to work or are the chances so low?
With one party I have tried to gain virtue by mass and confession just about every other day for a month or so and nothing happened. with another party I also had DF to regain and spent 4 or 5 days with mass and confession. Nothing happened.
What about donations? Is there a way of telling the success chances?

-df gains in both should be guaranteed, value depends on spkL and Relg - this a problem?
-virtue gains from confession are possible but very rare.
-there is no virtue gain from mass
-from what i can tell a church donation is useless unless the party has 25+ florins and 30 Relg, then it always increases virtue
-a cathedral donation gives as much as 30 df, if the party had 75+ florins

That's probably the problem. Do you know how much is needed?

30 as sum, for the most religious member or for everybody?

You should always get a little DF from confession and mass, no matter the skill scores. I can't remember on the second question but I expect that any character with 30+ relg will get virtue

Every character with 30 Relg gets +1 virtue, every character with 60 Relg gets +2 virtue, every character with 90 Relg gets +3 virtue.

Divine favor is much more trivial to regain than virtue. I would do it in an inn or even while camping outdoors.
