There's no manual coming with the game, and I got frustrated VERYfast with it.

I have no idea what am I doing, no idea what the buildings do, no idea what are 'quests", no idea what the equipments do and how they do it, no idea what the possible recruits do, if the recruits come in random, what the heck I should do as even during the 1st quest my orders regularly get mixed up, no idea what enemy is dangerous in what way, no idea when do I get healed (ok, I get full heal of HP when I return to twon, right?), no idea how food works (I just ate a load of food, which reset back to its values-when-left-town when my party decided they are hungry), no idea how long a torch last, no idea on practically ANYTHING, like what's the deal with traps, why I get sacres at random for no reason etc. etc.

So, where's the darn manual please? All the necessary basic info, ok? Like in the "good old times". Gimme that 150 pages electronic manual, or whatever what explains all that I'll need to be able to start the friggin game!

Did I mention this thing just annoyed me?

First of all, calm down.
As a tip: next time try to break the multitude of questions apart into smaller segments, it's much easier to answer them that way. On different (read: less friendly and patient) forums such posts may result in people calling you names.

What version of the game do you have? It should be 21142. If not, update it.

The game does not have a "classic" manual, but there is a tutorial in-game. Read the provided tips and follow them.
In town, there is a book icon at the bottom of the screen between the candle and the chest. It's called "Glossary" and it should explain some of the basics.
Also for most things in-game, an explanation should appear if you leave the mouse on an object (e.g. a building) for a few seconds.

By "equipment" I'm assuming you meant "trinkets", if so you can find them in the chest icon at the bottom of the screen. To use them right click on a hero and drag the trinket to an empty slot (under the "equipment" tab there should be a sack icon). First, you need to get them by completing a Quest.

Think of Quests as missions. Click on the "embark" button, select a mission and drag and drop the heroes you want to your team. Click on the "Provision" and select what your Heroes will take on their Quest (akin to "equipping" them in an ARPG, it's like telling them: "You may pack this in your backpacks for this mission."). To use an item right click on it while on a Quest.

First, you have to use a torch (right click on it) and at the top of the screen, a line will appear and gradually disappear (like torch-meter). You will notice the area looking brighter or darker depending on torch usage.

You heal with certain skills such as the Crusader's "Battle Heal" and others. You must assign them before using them (right click on a Hero and click on skills under the "Combat Skills" tab to activate or deactivate them. Only 4 can be active at once.).
Visit the Guild once you unlock it and get new skills for your Heroes.

The game is built on a very simple click-to-do/use principle. In battle select the skill you want your Hero to use.

Traps are tricky (they are traps, after all), it may take some trials and errors, but you will notice the stance of your heroes will change sometimes, look on the ground for a trap (there should be a text above the heroes displaying the trap-disarming success rate). Click on the trap with the Hero with the highest %.

As for enemies, it's a process of trial and error + observation.

Yes, heroes are spawned randomly each week. Check the "Stage Coach" (bottom left near signpost) in town to get new heroes.

Darkest Dungeon is tactical management and battle game. You have to keep a lookout on the heroes' stress and health, decrease the first and increase the other.
Let's say you (as you in real life) went into a dark scary place and got beaten up by a skeleton. You would suffer injuries (health decrease in-game) and the fear would cause you stress. (Even walking in such a place would be scary, right? Hence, the "random" stress accumulation in heroes.) That's the basic premise of the game for its heroes. The more they do it, the more levels they get and the more resilient they become.

For further information check the game wiki and the game's official site.

Warning: Darkest Dungeon is a difficult game by default. If it's too difficult, search the nexus for a mod and install it.
E.g. Unstoppable Heroes - this mod should be easy to use, but it may be very unbalanced and it might make the game too easy. However, it also explains how to edit the game files yourself for different values.

Bottom line: Darkest Dungeon is a game that requires a lot of reading. If you don't like that, try a different game.
P.S. Sorry, but some parts of your post give the impression of "I was too lazy to read the pop-ups."
If that's not the case and they don't appear (they definitely should), your game is likely outdated. If that doesn't help, you're dealing with a technical issue that is beyond my ability to resolve.

I hope that helps and I apologize if some parts seemed insulting, they were meant as parts of arguments and not as insults.

You can figure out 90% of the game by just paying attention to information presented to you and using your brain. For the remaining 10% you can either use trial & error or go here: https://darkestdungeon.gamepedia.com/Darkest_Dungeon_Wiki

If you're looking for a game that basicallly plays itself and just requires you to follow on-screen instructions (press button X to proceed), darkest dungeon is probably not for you.

No, what I need is a PROPER MANUAL. I don't want to spend a whole week creating the darn thing just because modern developers are lazy and don't make their job!

Here youanswered my single question (I'm calm as an iceberg by the way): there's no manual.
Tutorials are only valid if the control is messy, or specially responsive, and the game is very very simple. This game is not. Maual is a must.

-----------

This out of the way:
- don't assume please. For example when I say "equipment" I mean EQUIPMENT. Armor, weapon, provisions, trinkets, EVERYTHING.
- leaving mouse to gain information is useless here. For starter, HOW MANY quests I have to finish to unlock each building? HOW MANY stress it'll rmeove? HOW MANY stress and damage I'll receive ifI don't havea shovel? HOW DO I level up my heroes? WHERE TO GET certain type of heirlooms? HOW DO I KNOW what is the questlevel, how do I choose which quest I'll go on, how do I know whatlevel of heroe will go on what quests, if levelup there, automatic, what to do/how tostrenghten named hero, if my max lvl hero dies I really have to start over with lvl 1 dungeons developinga replacement...?
See: proper manual is in demand for the game.
- nope. Enemies must be mentioned in bestiary. I friggin Warcraft1 could have a bestiary-section, heck even Super Mario, than it's basic to give the player hints.
- the problem w/o a manual is, that there's nothing to base tactics on.

------------

Some proper questions:
- how to ennlarge the backpack? Heared Large dungeons demand a crapton of provisions (including all variants). Need More Space. Which building/other function gives this to me?
- how do I unlock heroes ability? Half of them are always locked. Seen some video and they should be unlocked somehow. But how?

I'm not "lazy" to read the popups but:
- I hate pixelhunt, hidden menu hunt. I want all them in the same place: a proper manual.
- I want to know everything at once, because I use tactic. I prepare for the time Funciont X unlocks. This is taken away from me here with the lack of manual.
The lack of manual is just an artificail try to extend the gameplay hours. It's bad habbit on the side of the developers, originated in MMOs (or MUDs if you prefer the older acronym). It doesn't work here.
While I absolutely agree it would not have killed them to have a manual... I had no trouble picking up the game with the tutorial. One item you may want to start with, in the lower right there is a journal of sorts that explains all the terminology. That is very helpful. Beyond that, once you loose a few heros and want to know more about the details, best bet was posted earlier by Wolfy.. https://darkestdungeon.gamepedia.com/Darkest_Dungeon_Wiki

Personally as a fellow "new guy" I found the following page to be quite the epiphany...
https://darkestdungeon.gamepedia.com/Expedition

Followed immediately by the guide on what to bring...
https://darkestdungeon.gamepedia.com/Expeditions_Guide

Those will certainly get you started along with the tutorial. Any other question I have had that wiki has answered. It is extremely thorough.

- Your pack is your pack. It is part of the design of the game. If you are immediately unhappy with this, youre expecting a pure RPG, and this is not.
- Explained in the tutroial.... You train skills at the Guild.
- ....
- Then this is certainly not the game for you. Part of the design is to explore and figure out. For example, how a specific curio will react to a specific provisions. It is meant for you to experiment.

You are now venturing into "just looking to b1itch" territory. Which is fine by me. If you have any other questions, please ask and i am happy to answer. But I will disengage from trying to convince you there isnt an issue with game knowledge.

Yes, it is impossible to expand the pack. However, the number of stacked items in a slot can be increased with inventory mods.

It's really not the job of a manual to tell you "which enemy is dangerous in which way". Thats the player's job to figure out. There are however a view vital pieces of information missing in the user interface. For example: I do know that claustrophobia is fear of confined spaces, the tooltip should instead tell me how this translates into game mechanics.
Most of your questions though are of such basic nature that I suggest you just play the game and see for yourself. If you wonder how long a torch lasts, light one! (If I sound like a science nerd, it's because I am one)
One bit of information I really missed for the longest time was that the small yellow line(s) next to the health bar of an enemy indicates the number of actions this enemy has left in this turn. Maybe I just wasn't observant enough, but this is valuable tactical information that AFAIK is explained nowhere.

Very true. I also took some time to figure this out. It certainly changes things once you do. There is little regarding the combat UI, but there are a number if useful things going on. One of those cases it wouldnt have killed them to produce a manual...

And waste like a week of real time from my life whatcould be told to me in a manual and absorbed in an hour.

I rly don't like this attitude.

Bingo! As suspected, this isnt the game for you. Not because you "dont get it" or anything derogatory, its simply not your style. You will be happier with a classic RPG type. Might i suggest the Gold Box series... I love those games. Still play them 30 years later.

I came here to congratulate you, for this answer. While the others gave, in my opinion, good answers too, yours was very patient and complete.

Now, about the discussions, the failures and discoveries (general characteristics of monsters, dungeons and bosses) are constant part of the game (which you can avoid with spoilers and wikis). Many times will you lost some progress with your characters, because they will die horribly and revoltingly (I ragequited sometimes because I became attached to them, but some persons consider they as expendable), while your progress with your Hamlet will continue (the most important part of the game). So, maybe you (OP) should avoid this game, since it doesn't seems to be your style/(sub)genre.
