Domochevsky: And is that composition really sufficiently resistant against formation forkery once someone goes into the pot (repeatedly) and I only got 3 people to work with?
avatar
Jonesy89: They shouldn't go in repeatedly; just ignore whoever is in the pot, unless they are a major damage dealer, like the Hellion buffed with Sharpen Spear and Battle Trance who should absolutely be at the head of the party. Other than that, go nuts.
Maybe they shouldn't, but they do. The hag doesn't seem to differentiate, trying the same people multiple times sometimes.

Ignoring them means that they'll take damage until they spill out at death's door. Which I suppose can be recovered from if I get the chance.

What I'm trying to get at is that the best strategy for the Hag is to ignore whoever is in the pot and pile on DPS, maybe some bleed from a second Hellion in the party before the formation has a chance to get screwed up by someone getting dumped from the pot. If you are quick enough, the Hag will be dead before whoever is in the pot goes to Death's Door.
Good news there: I went in with an Occultist, two Jesters and a Highwayman in front and let her bleeeeed. She died, filling up her cauldron. :)
(...but not before cooking, seasoning and tenderizing one of my Jesters. The party brought his corpse back, together with the spoils. It was well done.)

The Highwayman was of ultimately little use in that setup, but he made for another body and someone to take potshots at her. It was what I had available at the moment.

That leaves me with the Brigand 16 Pounder and the Formless Flesh, before tackling the darkest of dungeons, it seems. This could go either well or horribly wrong. Probably the latter.
I just finished it. Jesus fishbiscuits. Think I need to go lie down for a bit.
I just completed the game today. Week 283 or something.

I REALLY took my time. Each time I went into each Darkest Dungeon for the first time I failed the mission except the last one which I completed on my first run through. Otherwise I I completed them on my second run through once I knew a bit more about what I was facing.

Nice one :)
I actually haven't played it since I made this thread. Guess I should try some time soon, but I'm not expecting to beat it. This seems like one of those games that I don't mind if I never beat it.
I hear the new game+ is pretty ridiculous. You have a maximum number of weeks to win, and a maximum number of people that can be killed. Oh and the monsters might be buffed, too.
I'd love to hear about experiences with new game+ XD

Yes when you beat the game it tells you, you can then start a new game that is more difficult, you can only have so many people die, have only a certain amount of weeks to complete (though it doesn't tell you how many) and the monsters are buffed.

I haven't tried yet...I want to play some other games first and not get so stressed for a change lol
