I recently wanted to play Dark Reign 2 so I re-downloaded it from GoG. I'm running a windows 7 64 bit machine. Unfortunately whenever I try to launch the game I get an error that states:

dr2.exe - Entry Point Not Found
The procedure entry point MiniDumpWriteDump could not be located in the dynamic link library dbghelp.dll.

After a little googling it seems like this may be cause by a missing .dll file. Not sure if that's really the issue though, anyone have any ideas?

If there is a dbghelp.dll in one of the folders of Dark Reign 2, rename it to something else. See if that helps.

Ok I'm trying to run the game in windows 11 in windows 7 compatibility mode. I followed the advice in MardukPain's post and the game launches but after the opening movie the screen goes black except for a white square at the bottom? Does anyone have any idea what is causing this or how to fix it?

I used dgvoodoo2 and it worked like a charm. Don't use the files from Mardukpain, it seems there is a virus.

I tried a different dgvoodoo2 download, unzipped it to the Dark Reign 2 folder and it didn't help. When I test run it in XP compatibility mode I get an fatal error unable to execute library/engine/startup.cfg
