Why does it cost more on GoG than on Steam?

iBlark: Why does it cost more on GoG than on Steam?
A fair question given that steam adds an extra 30% because of their cut.
Its $59.99 on both steam and gog for me.
Guess I will just wait for reviews. That %30 off really would have swayed me to pre-order, but I guess thats just other countries.
:(
Likely you have different regions selected for each store.

Here is the price on Steam by region: https://steamdb.info/app/1091500/

Previously GOG offered Wallet funds to balance the cost increase (basically a Rebate) for such titles that were inconsistent, but this program ended I believe: https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2019/02/27/gog-ending-regional-pricing-rebates/

So if you are not in North America, the price may very well be different.

Edit: As an addendum, this is a relevant discussion about such pricing schemes:
https://www.gog.com/wishlist/site/ban_all_regional_pricing_from_gog_stick_with_your_principles

I will quote, what I think is one of the most relevant comments:
"I don't normally post a comment on the internet but please don't [remove regional pricing]. I've been on both sides of the argument. I'm currently living in Australia where regional pricing actually means we will be paying more than American consumers. But I used to live in Thailand where regional pricing is great because 60 USD is about half of your monthly salary. So please don't there are gamers in many Asia and Eastern Europe who would never be able to buy games without regional pricing. I wish that countries that have to pay more than US get the same price as US after exchange rate but I understand if they won't." - Phant0m672

iBlark: How do I change the gog store region?
I believe GOG automatically pulls region based on IP address. So if you are using a Proxy server or VPN then maybe turn it off. Some users report that sometimes it malfunctions if you are using it in a Brower, in which case Clearing your Cookies and Cache should remedy the issue.

Lastly you can change what Currency you use: https://support.gog.com/hc/en-us/articles/212783625-How-can-I-change-my-currency- Perhaps this will help.

Try checking what region you have set in Steam as well: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=6627-QSNM-5276
Steam is set to my region, and gog is set to display NOK as well, but its still showing Euro, even after a restart.
I find it weird that it costs more on gog.

So, just to be clear, you live in Norway, and GOG is showing Euros as your currency yes?

NOK is definately one of the currencies they accept: https://support.gog.com/hc/en-us/articles/212184449-What-payment-methods-and-currencies-do-you-accept-and-where-

I don't know what else to tell you. Everything I said here should resolve the issue.

Perhaps open a support ticket?

iBlark: Why does it cost more on GoG than on Steam?
Please check the forums before creating a new thread.
All threads about region pricing and price differences/people saying they saw prices changing so far:
https://www.gog.com/forum/cyberpunk_2077/eu_gog_price_60_eur
https://www.gog.com/forum/cyberpunk_2077/why_does_it_cost_more
https://www.gog.com/forum/cyberpunk_2077/the_price_is_now_4999_is_this_a_discount

https://www.gog.com/forum/cyberpunk_2077/the_gog_preorder_is_10_more_expensive_than_a_physical_copy_in_australia/page1

I don't know why, and please forgive me if I'm wrong, but if people started saying "Well for me it cost this much $ and I live here!" it could be dangerous to share that information because this could possibly be an information harvesting thread to determine where everyone lives and the pricing in their location for some unknown purpose. I just get a weird feeling about it. This is absolutely not in any way a personal attack against anyone and I mean only the best and to keep people safe from potential possible things. I only say to everyone be safe, because just in case, you don't know 100% for sure who is who on the internet. Our great grandparents didn't go around just sharing every personal detail about themselves and where they live to everyone who asked, so I take that as wisdom. I almost replied to the thread and said "Hey I live here and I would pay X amount of $" but then I said, no, it's probably safer if I don't. Please everyone be safe and I hope only the best for all of you, and I mean no offense to the OP of the thread in any way, it's just precautionary that I mention this.

Thanks for the help, I was able to change the currency on the web page, kinda forgot there was one. I still display EUR on the client, but Im not too bothered.
As for Fridge, we get datamined all over the internet, the only real way for that not to happen is to stay off it.

All or nothing eh? I'm just saying, if I'm going to be driving I'm going to wear my seatbelt.
