latest update rolled out but Galaxy keeps failing when "getting file list". Anyone else having the issue or has a workaround? Would an offline installer solve the issue?
No posts in this topic were marked as the solution yet. If you can help, add your reply
Galaxy failed to update to 2.01, as it failed to update to 2.0. They're "looking into the issue" as they did for 2.0.

Sadly, as you can see, there's no offline patch to 2.01, only the full installer. I suppose you could download the whole of it, yes. I have no idea how Galaxy would react though.

You can try to ask the support about it by opening a ticket. Maybe at some point they'll realize something is wrong with their Galaxy if enough people contact them.

Did you try to verify files?
This error ultimately lead me to this forum, where I discovered the 2.01 is a bug disaster and im glad the bug happened and I didn't update!
Exactly. It seems safer to ignore this update for now. Either way, I was unable to update with Galaxy, even after it restarted downloading the whole game (it remained stuck).

Several users in the Steam forums reported problems with the game after updating. I suppose they'll have to sort this out and provide a new patch here, and a hotfix on Steam.
Same issue here, tried an uninstall and a reinstall of GOG galaxy with removing the ProgrmaData folder but the issue is till there, must be on their end
Patch installed for me normally.

Though I can't even play the tutorial, can't kill the first enemy ^^
patch WAS released along with updated game.
GOG Galaxy downloading issues not related to game. Obviously. Bruh...

Downloading issues is either server side issue or your machine issue. Since there is differ CDN servers serverside issue can be random for everyone.

Issues at finale stage of downloading - install+configure - is strick security issue of your machine.

What is this dismissal of legitimate issues people are experiencing? Galaxy is buggy, has problems even updating itself much less games.

Broken patches that cause crashes, break at least functioning games.

I haven't bought anything on GoG since Cyberpunk and I doubt I will buy another CDPR or GoG game again as a result of these years-long issues.
I think the update problem is related to the space on the hard drive where we have the game installed. Change the temporary installation files folder to a hard drive with plenty of free space and it updated normally.
@Teniente Furia is correct, its to do with the free space on the drive :)

I'm encountering an issue that says there is a "missing script" and the game won't even load for me at all. Not sure what the hell I'm supposed to do as I've verified/repaired 3 times and still no luck.
The update problem we all see isn't related to free disk space. I have about 300 GB on both disks - one being used for the game, the other for the temporary folder.

It's been the same for the 2.0 update, and it's likely to be the same for future patches. The client logs reveals that there are missing chunks in their patch and so they can't be applied to the current version, for some reason I ignore.

I've tried to reach out to the support but they're eluding the question and asking to reinstall the full game. They even say to restart the PC, which shows they have no clue at all.

I bought the game thinking it was the thing to do with CDPR, but it's the last game I ever buy from GOG. I have had too many problems like this, at the installation, when updating, or to access DLC from the game. They've never really fixed Galaxy (which probably still has those security issues), and the manual downloads are often incomplete like now.
Restart Windows actually can help. Do exactly Restart and not shotdown-powerup.

script error - is strickt security issue. Some security service prevent Galaxy to execute .script files at finale stage of game setup. reinstall everything to D/Games/GOG/Galaxy/
D/Games/Steam/
X/Games/SteamApps/common/
X/Games/Game-name-2/
only strickly this path. no variations. Not on c/ drive at all.

launch galaxy as admin anyway to install update validate redownload and validate again. And for first game launch after that. Then you can restart without admin or alternative if dont want (feel not enough experienced to understand how that work and when jeed to be in admin) - permanently set galaxy.exe to adminrun in properties. If you use it to start games nonneed to set admin run onto games exe. Same for steam. If aome games started by their folder exe - set admin run on game exe.

Still 3rd party security service/qpplications need to he configured to ignore /Games/ folders.

GOG Galaxy indeed become worse than it be. Cant autoupdate itself. Didnt show validation result plus always forcely redownload something. While in Steam/etc/bittorrent/etc better to validate at least twive in a row in Galaxy it isnmore important 5o validate few times since unclear what happened at that moment.

Never, ever, set galaxy as admin, since there are security issues that have never been fixed by GOG. Unless you know for sure that they have been solved.

Restarting Windows is only necessary if changes are made to the OS, which isn't the case when installing or updating a game. At least, it's the case with GOG, which is mostly DRM-free. If you have a game with Denuvo, that installs itself in the OS in kernel mode, that's something else.
