Since the 2.02 update I experienced the issue that the game started stuttering/freezing when getting started. The first logo (and sometimes some of the later ones as well) is starting to freeze and stutter - so does the audio. When the loading is finished everything works fine and I can run the game with high to max settings. The game is installed on a SSD and I am running a 4060. My CPU is rather old but it is hard for me to imagine that my i7 4790K could actually cause the issue which wasn't there in 2.0 and any other updates. I am wondering if I am alone with this and if not if there's a known fix/workaround for this issue.

It's the same for me ... but only once after the first installation (so far). The next time I start it, it runs without stuttering.

Hi.

I'm having the same problem. I'm on linux and the game runs perfect with 1.63 patch. If i run only the exe with going thrugh GOG launcher it works fine.
I noticed the exact opposite. I get quite a bit better performance. The stuttering during logos has always happened for me on every version of this game on numerous different systems. It only ever happens after a new install, a driver update, or a directX cache clean. I'm pretty sure it's shader compilation stutter, my guy.

Unfortunately it happens to me every single time. I would not mind if it were a one time only thing.
That being said, how would I even clear the cache? Maybe this would help?

Win has that option in Settings - Storage - Temporary Files - DirectX-Shadercache. Steam uses Settings - Downloads - Clear Download Cache. And GOG has it here C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\webcache.

Thank you. I will try this.
Yeah, I have this problem every time I run the game for the first time after turning my computer. My CPU is 5600x

Sorry for the late reply. Yes, you clear it just the way the other user advised. Also, you should go to your Nvidia Control Panel(Don't know how to do this with AMD) and set your shader cache to either unlimited, or no less than 10Gb. When you update your drivers, this also automatically cleans the cache. You should notice a big improvement after clearing it. It usually takes about 30 mins to build a decent cache by playing the game.

Thank you. Already cleared the cache as told before but will change the setting in the nvidia driver as well like you said.

It's still there but better. Only the first logo (Cyberpunk 2077) is still stuttering and freezing after that's done (a few seconds or so) the rest of the logos show correctly. Deactivating the shader cache completely makes things worse so yes, it seems as if in fact the game is compiling shaders while loading the intro logos and that seems to cause the freezing and stuttering.
