ming338: Where is the offline installer
avatar
abbelyn: https://www.gog.com/account
Search Cyberpunk
Offline installer is below the button for the Client install

Xaenz1: The 1.03 to 1.04 patch? It is already available- Games > Cyberpunk.
avatar
abbelyn: The issue is that the offline patch won't work with the Galaxy preloaded installation....
Did I post it would work? I was responding to the offline installer question from ming338.

I am aware of the differences between Galaxy and Offlne Installers.

I like when it takes a lifetime to apply the patch than it is to download it...

I was just clarifying for the thread, so everyone is on the same page =)
Update is done.

Before patch was applied the folder size had grown to 119 gb after patching folder size is 59.5 gb.

Weird, my install size before update was 59.6....so it shrunk?
Mine is taking forever to apply due to having to copy the install over to platter to update =(

I also installed CP77 on an empty ssd (112 of 128 gb usable) ... got about 49gb left .. and the update won't work ...

Right now I am making a copy to an other drive (hdd) with 240gb free ... maybe i can update that way and then ... copy it back to the ssd -_-

this sucks ... and the update in the "extras" is a single .bin file ... virtual clone drive wants to mount it, are there other ways to execute this update file?

It is a slow update but speeds up towards the end. It hung on 61% for a time, next I checked it was 75% then 89% before completion. Did not time it unfortunately.

Note: Mine is installed on HDD and oddly have no issues when playing. Not sure why an SSD is recommended.

There is an EXE for the patch and the BIN, both are needed to run it, however that patch file will not work for you if you installed or preloaded via the Galaxy client. That patch file is only for updating the offline install.

Yeah, I tend to try to play newer games on the SSD as my hardware is slightly older (Ryzen 1st gen and 1080ti).
Mine is still crawling along...up to 71% now....though disk usage is only at about 40 MB/s currently.... =(

This update process is really something :)

I bet someone on the dev team thought, to be on the safe side "better make a copy of everything, apply the patches and only if that succeeded, copy them back; just to be sure".

lol, I wrote this as a funny thing not being serious but

I'm still updating and saw that the files in Cyberpunk 2077\archive\pc\content and Cyberpunk 2077\!Temp\archive\pc\content are literally the same but the one within !Temp also have *.diff files. Go figure

yeah, I mean that's the thing: downloading 1GB patch but the game requires temporarily additional 50GB disk space to apply it.

something is just wrong here :)
Thank you for fixing the updater CDPR! With my same install setup 1.05 just updated on my SSD.

Closing open support case =)

I agree that it sucks... but it's actually very efficient for d/l amount.
That's probably why they did it... to help people who have slow internet connections.

I have a fast connection, so I'd rather re-d/l a 50 gig archive then wait 3+ hours (HDD) for a small patch to finish being applied.
However someone with crappy internet would probably prefer the patch time (especially with an ssd) over the download size.

Depending on the files updated and the Archives it needs to decompress to patch files this is all normal, Downloading 50gb from the likes of Activision or EA or Ubisoft because who needs to patch the intro file with an Advertisement 12gb for Warner Bros just to replace the menu selection on a 18gb installed game Mortal Kombat anyone just to sell MK11..

Overkill and Payday 2 these clowns are the worst so they changed a config file inside an archive downloading 3gb Entire archive literally wasteful.
