Hi !

Is there a way to circumvent the patch from REQUIRING 90GB of temporary space ?
It is ridiculous for an 20-30gb update to require the temporary space to be as big as the whole game installation.

The galaxy launcher IS capable of circumventing that requirement. What I did on the last few updates is:

Disable the update in galaxy
Download a prior patch from the game library on the gog website
apply this patch manually
use "verify/repair" in galaxy to update the game to the latest version where it DOES NOT need 90gb temp space
(2.01 needed 35gb, 2.02 needs 29gb)

You got the technology, now just PLEASE add it to the auto-update in Galaxy.

Fully agree with this. Its ridiculous the way updates are done now.

As it is now might as well uninstall and then install whole game again.

what is the name of the patch to download?

First, they should fix Galaxy so that it's possible to update correctly at all.

So far, I had to reinstall the game on 2.0, 2.01, and now 2.02. I would use the manual download, but they don't provide the patches, only the full install. That's hours of downloading each time. Thanks GOG for ignoring the problem.

Note that you can set where the Galaxy temporary space is. You can set it to another drive, if you're concerned about disk space.

what is the name of the patch to download?
Patch (2.01 to Build_4940722Change_6460039_0) "the exe"
Patch (2.01 to Build_4940722Change_6460039_0) "the archive"

This will "brick" your install BUT if you start Galaxy and do "verify/repair" it will correctly update to 2.02 using only around 30GB (size of the patch) instead of the whole 90GB. After that my game was correctly updated and I could conitinue playing.

Another good tip is to load your latest 2.01 save, then immediately make a new 2.02 save and reload that one.
This way you can be sure all the new changes (rebalance of guns/passive skill fixes) are applied correctly.
