Sonic Shock
What's the point in this it does not work...

Using hacks in a mission called The Damned

Everything except for ping or distract enemies triggers them to find me and they shoot at the walls where I'm on the other side of, What kind of trash beta change has been made with V2.0, Sure made it harder but this rendering hacks pointless for your character to engage in a situation it's not levelled to fight in absolutely counter intuitive to gameplay.

The so called overhaul of the tech tree is a clustered mess and a waste nonsensical upgrades, starting to suspect the bud light women was employed to design this Tech \ Skill Tree.
The entire Quick hack tree is beyond dumb now..

Sonic shock makes other hacks untracable, I have be just doing a Sonic Shock and Synapse burnout combo the entire DLC now. Pretty overpowered imo, I still think they need to do quite a bit of quickhack rebalancing still.

It was the server that was tracing me, Yet the enemies were firing at the wall on me, The Stories are great like gibson but these bugs...
What happend was its balanced to allow ONE SPECIFIC PLAY STYLE...
Someone made it their personal "tree" at Red.
It was not balanced around letting people play how they want.

edited since what I said before(while likely true) isn't really acceptable for the forums.

I kindof noticed more and more as I think of creative things.
I celebrate when i'm able to pull off a wacky stunt. but in an RPG it really hits like a truck when you realize the game just stops and says "nuh uh, cant do that"
In the one phantom liberty gig where you get "caught" and are asked to scan to identify yourself, I thought "oh ill just silent takedown everyone" but Nuh Uh, if you try that everyone instantly gets alerted to you.

It almost sometimes feels like some peeved off cdpr dev really hated the idea of freedom of choice in a rpg, or didn't know how to properly let someone do their thing, w/ out bandaid fixing a path.

Iirc the only way to stop a trace is to either disable (ie sonic shock) or kill all enemies in the area.
But if you use sonic shock before you use a traceable hack, they wont be able to trace you... as long as you are not using a hack that affects multiple enemies like contingent

Yup... totally agree.

Ultimates are useless due to requirements to play a minigame or pay their insane ram costs.

Contagion has been my fallback while playign 2.0. :-(
Well the combat was already not that exciting in Vanilla but i managed to squeeze short of 300h of gameplay out of it.

Now it is outright boring and nothing but splatter and gore with plenty of light effects arcade shooter.
I now see NPCs as obstacle between the quest steps instead of a fun or entertaining gameplay element and have solely focussed on the quest/story side of the game.
Otherwise i would have stopped playing by now.

My "squeeze some excitment out of it" playstyle is twofold by now and i try to sneak everywhere in as far as i come and when combat occurs i simply kill the npc shit with a tech sniper rifle headshoting through walls everyone alive and marked having still a very slight entertainement value out of the loot lottery.

But yeah, is see the NPCs by now as a waste of my time and that speaks volume about the direction of the game.

I have nothing against a good fight and enjoyed Elden Ring ie. a great way.

But CDPR is utterly incapable of makeing good fights!

Their Stories (as long its not a cheap filler) and Worldbuilding though is top notch!

Biut then the dramaturgy of vanilla does not work and barely works in PL.

It is not believeable to "clear" sidecontent for what feels like 1000s of hours when your life expectancy is some days to a very few weeks.

That Does Not Work!

PS: Oh good God...and do not speak of this Uber-Bossfights that contain this "quicktime style" elements of combat when you suddenly lose control of your character, do not know whats going on, all the screen is shaking and showing special effects galore and then you have suddenly a weapon you do not have in you inentory and in all the visual and sound and screenshake overload there is suddenly a timed "press this button" message you dont see bcs it has the same colours as most of the visual effects.
And you have no clue when you have control back to you unless frantically hitting a key to see if the avatar reacts again to input!

Who gives that shit a go?!?

Imo it sucks too that there isnt really a reason to try new things in hacking too, you either dont use it or stick with something you always use.
I kindof wish it actually was a viable way to strategize around enemies and let you be quick on your toes. Its not unfun, just feels tacked on and samey at times compared to some other playstyles.

It's not fun to me.

I used to go into an area all stealthy and turn them against each other, then finish off the rest by both hack and gun.

Or if it was an ncpd thing, I might just run in guns blazing and if it got risky, then finish them off with quickhacks.

I can't do either now.

Also that whole sticking with what you like is true, but it doesn't change from 1.63 to 2.0... that's always true... just what is worth using changed.
