I have this on PS5, and using the controller could be considered torture in several NATO countries. I skipped the PC version because my gaming desktop is ancient at this point. However, I'm wondering if my gaming laptop would work and how well.

Also, I read there are issues with remapping key bindings. Is this true? I remap pretty much everything in first-person games, and if some keys are hard locked, I'll probably skip the PC version.

Anyway, here are my laptop specs...
i7-10750H, 16 GB RAM, GTX 1660 Ti, SSD.
What should I expect with those specs, as far as max settings and performance? My laptop screen is 1920x1080 and I can live with 30 fps as long as the mouse controls are comfortable.

Your laptop has more horsepower than my PC, and my rig runs the game fine. You can change keyboard bindings but you can't remap buttons for controller.

Thanks, dude. I read there was a problem, like F couldn't be assigned to anything other than "Use" and you have to get into the config file to manually change it. That, and there's no way to sprint. This stuff might have all been cleaned up with 1.5, not sure. It's just playing with a controller is so awful it makes me want to quit the game and usually I have no problem with controllers on FPS games.

I fired up the game and swapped F with W. It looks like the F key issue was patched out. I was also able to change it within the game and did not have to get into the config file.

What exactly is wrong with the controls in the PS5 version? I don't think I'll be able to provide a solution, I'm simply curious.

Using a controller with the game is absolutely futile. The default setting feels so heavy and is so imprecise, I literally miss enemies standing in front of me with a shotgun. There are probably a dozen settings and sliders in the menu for sensitivities and dead zones and acceleration, and while you can get better results than the default, nothing works well. If you Google controller problems for this game, you get quite a few hits and a lot of pages where people provide their own settings to help improve the controls. Dude, it's so insanely bad that I almost just quit playing. The only saving grace to this is I bought the PS4 version for $10 on a 1-day blow out clearance sale at Target and the PS5 upgrade was free, so I'm only out $10 on it. But I waited and waited to play it until the PS5 came out and it was a bummer. Plus, it claims to have ray tracing, but it's non-existent (not that I expect my GPU to pull it off).

Right now I'm downloading the game from GOG, so we'll see how it goes. If the mouse/keyboard controls are good, that solves the problem. Been waiting a long time to play this.
I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with the PC version.

I just downloaded and ran the PC version. I have only messed with the graphics settings so far, and with pretty much everything maxed, stopping at ray tracing, I benchmarked at about 39 fps at 1920x1080. Good enough for me. I'm about to get into it. I played about 6 hours on PS5, but I don't mind starting over.

The game also has native PS4 controller support on PC - with correct button prompts, in case you want to try controller again.

Edit: something just occurred to me. I think the current gen consoles have M/KB support. Have you tried using it on your PS5?

I think they do have m/k, but I have everything set up in my living room, which not a m/k environment, so to speak.

I just stopped playing the game... got past the combat sim so I could test combat and it worked like a charm. SO much better. I can actually enjoy the game now. It runs great on my laptop. It's maxed out for the most part, except for any ray tracing and it looks probably a bit better than the PS5 (benchmarked about 40 fps at 1920x1080). The PS5 looks flat in comparison, which isn't helped by the fact that among other problems with the PS5 has with this game, the HDR is a mess. There is almost no correct way to set it for the game, and you have to get into your TV's settings to compensate, which... no thanks. I'm not jacking around with all that calibration for one game. The PS5 version might work now with minimal bugs, but I wouldn't recommend it.
Turn HDR for Cyberpunk for now, it's flawed currently.

Nice! Glad you are enjoying it :)
