Just follow the steps, exe refers to the cyberpunk exe. Cyberpunk 2077 seems to ignore SMT and mostly utilise physical CPU cores on AMD, but all logical cores on Intel

Ooo

Amd user here with abysmal performance no matter what resolution.

Hope that fixes it!!

also DDU nvidia drivers. installed brand new one from the website without geforce experience.

still getting 20 fps.

its like there is some stupid lock on this game.
Now this could be down to having a compiler options set for better AMD Bulldozer - Excavator CPU performance which used shared execution units between cores for some can using SMT really killed performance on these CPUs for some applications.

None of the Ryzen CPUs have this problem, but if they are treated the same way you would see this behaviour, and depending on how many cores you have you could also see a drop in performance. But it you have more physical cores than execution threads this wont have any effect on game performace, so my guess is for 3700/3800, 3900, 3950 and the replacement 5X00 CPUS this likely does not matter due to the lager core counts these CPUs have 3600 and 5600 it does.

i expect this will be addressed in a future patch if that is really whats happening, so we can all get the best performance out of our AMD hardware.

I have a Ryzen 9 3900x. It seems like it's overheating even though I run the game fine on most settings. is this a problem with my fans or the game? Should I try the hex issue?
Weird, im running on an AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 12-Core and i have no issues, except for 2 particular situations.
-Without the first patch when you meet Dex, and you sit in the limo and he's smoking.
-After completing a quest with Jackie and a van with two guys shoot at you from the front

I dont know what might be running at those points but it slowed down quite a bit, like i was on 144 fps then suddenly it went to 30-50 maybe even lower and choppier

But besides those two experiences, it runs flawlessly.
Of course there are certain bugs here and there and there could be some optimization to make some places more fluid, like the market where you can find Johnny silverhand biggest fan. Probably just crowds hogging resources.

How's your cooling? Whenever I play I can play on most settings but eventually the fans and heatsink blows out air loudly. Sounds like a vacuum turning on for a few seconds. While that happens I have no fps loss and the game runs fine. This is the only game it does it on. Didn't on RDR2, Kingdom Come or other large demanding games.

Stock cooling, and i live in pretty much hell on earth. Though when it gets too hot for me, i turn on the AC.
Still the fans work normal? they dont do any extra noise, i barely notice them, maybe you got issues with how the extra heat generated is being dissipated into the ambient, like i made sure my case is moving air properly and i got enough space for it to do so too.
When I used the hex edit, the game started using all 24 threads of my 3900X, before it was using only 12. Not sure if FPS went up, though the game seems smoother. Could be placebo.

As far as cooling goes, the stock cooler is barely adequate for the 3900X, good options to replace it are for example the Scythe Mugen 5 oder the Scythe Fuma 2, these are more affordable than the high-end Noctua coolers for example.
Just go to nexus mods and download one of the fixes, you don't have to edit the exe.
