djoxyk: Now I'm having trouble taking you seriously. I played it on freshly installed fully up-to-date Windows...
.
You'll note that I specifically didn't make any assumption or accusation--I only asked if you had been talking about the Linux version because of the link. I realize now that 'cat_on_linux' is just a Steam ID (No, I admit I didn't actually click on the link).
But I offer my apology, as I didn't mean to imply dishonesty.
Dryspace: brigade of fangirls
djoxyk: lol must be a male :)
.
I don't understand your logic? You seem to be making a typically "feminist" assumption that only a male would use the term 'fangirl'.
It was males who coined and used the term 'fanboy', so if anything one should assume that females would use the term 'fangirl'. As I said, this is the typically "feminist" position that anything that can be perceived as a negative depiction or characterization of women
obviously originates with a man and is de facto "sexist"...
unless it is known that the individual is a woman, in which case, "'sall good! 'sall good! We know
you don't mean anything bad by it." Amiright or amiright? :)
djoxyk: do you think this game appeals to female gamers?
.
I haven't yet played it myself, but I'm almost certain that it does, in fact, appeal to female gamers. Exactly the same way in which it appeals to male gamers--that is to say, that it appeals to some and not to others. Because as far as I know, female gamers, or females in general, are not some kind of weird Borg collective whose views and sensibilities can be spoken for by a single representative.
As for myself, I do not care for gratuitous sex or nudity and don't see how it increases the enjoyment of a game, but it seems clear that many people do.
djoxyk: this is the worst example of sexist game one can imagine. even corpses have naked bloody boobs, every slaughtered female NPC has to be naked like CDPR takes a joy in picturing females like that.
.
There are two points that I don't understand. You seem to be describing the game as sexist because there are slaughtered females, and also because there are naked females. First, I hope we can both agree--for argument's sake--that
if there is nothing wrong with slaughtered females
or naked females,
then there is also nothing wrong with slaughtered naked females?
My first point is that there are far, far more slaughtered males in video games than slaughtered females, so it's not clear to me why slaughtered females should be considered worthy of note simply because they exist.
My second point is that I am told that there is nothing wrong with nudity, and that people who have a problem with it are religious prudes. I do know that everywhere I go, from the grocery to the beach, women are habitually wearing as little clothing as socially--or even legally--permissible.
I only point out that, logically, if there is nothing wrong with men being slaughtered in a video game, then according to the professed doctrines of "feminism" there is nothing wrong with women being slaughtered in a video game. And if there is nothing wrong with nudity, then I don't see how there can be anything wrong with slaughtered nude females. Again--according to consistency with "feminism", and not to my own perspective.
djoxyk: Only sick male imagination can picture it as attractive.
.
I find it honestly disturbing that you view men in that way--that you assume that "sick males" find what you described to be
attractive. What makes you assume that men--or anyone--would find such a thing
attractive? You seem to have drawn the faulty conclusion that everything that exists in a video game is meant to be attractive. This is no more true for video games than it is for literature and cinema.
djoxyk: As a female myself I felt this game is extremely sexist and Geralt is extremely boring male example. Like a grandpa.
.
Well, that's your prerogative. I'm sure that there are many "feminists" who would have a fit if a man described an older female PC as boring and grandma-like, because clearly a man only wants a young, exciting woman. Male chauvinist pigs! :P
djoxyk: I wonder how CDPR managed to get away from SJWs with such sexist game.
.
At first I was thinking, "Maybe they just run faster". But you know, you'd think that CDPR wouldn't have to
get away from them (carrying their game like a football, glancing behind every few seconds)--you'd think if a group of people despised something so strongly they'd simply ignore it.
I mean, that's what leftists told everyone who didn't want pornography sold in the corner store. But hey, what do I know?
