There is already a topic about this. It would appear that all staff has to put in at most 8 hours more per week, going from presumably 40 to 48 hours, for the next six weeks, with full compensation.

Is that a good thing? No. Would it be preferable if this wasn't necessary? Yes, of course. Are we living in a perfect world where working overtime is never needed to make a deadline? Sadly, we are not.

That being said, while mandatory overtime sucks, one really does have to remember that a 48 hour per week crunch for a month and a half with compensation is somewhat different from semi-permanent 60-70 hour crunches, which is not unheard of. There are jobs where 60 hour weeks is the norm and periodic forced overtime isn't that rare either.
Well, that wasn't really my point ^

This game is so big that even BBC is interested, whole world is, and I like you tube adds few minutes long too.

And overtime is a good thing if you really love it :D People are testing game overtime, because they want it.
I`m always doing overtime (self-overtime) things I really want to do.

now then
This is beautiful what is happening with anticipation of this game around the (gaming)globe, people care : ) about game, about people creating it,there should be a film CREATING CYBERPUNK 2077, I would love to see it.
"Crunch Time" in video game development is absolutely a manufactured controversy. It's one of the many things whose illegitimacy becomes very clear once one takes some time to actually think about the subject in question. To "get some perspective" as it were, rather than looking at it with blinders on and assuming that every talking point is prima facie valid.

I can say that there is almost certainly a specific reason why this subject started being echoed about, and almost certainly a specific group who started it, as a means of obtaining another specific goal.

Also, @Arachnarok_Rider made some good points that I don't have to bother making now.
Oh Cake, and I will just keep being happy :D lol breakfast time! :D tea? coffee? game? conspiracy theory? all has been said ^

Sorry. It's just that it's a major focus of online rage at the moment that CDPR is forcing overtime to get the game done.

And yes, a documentary about the creation of CP77 would be pretty cool.

.
One of the four bonus discs included in The Witcher: Enhanced Edition was a Behind-the-Scenes Documentary DVD. It would definitely be cool if something similar became available for C2077.

I'm not getting the impression it's the development staff's fault. I'm getting the impression management screwed us all when they agreed to release on Stadia at launch.

At this point it doesn't matter. hopefully "I don't get fooled again"

Any person who wants to avoid being fooled need only forget about playing a modern AAA game anywhere near the date of release. It's that simple.

Human nature is truly impressive, as being fooled requires that one not only disregard a reality of the modern AAA industry, but ancient wisdom as well, in the form of "Fools rush in". And on top of that, the definition of insanity as immortalized by Vaas.

A powerful tri-fold combination of new and old truth that way too many people manage to perpetually ignore, like a sign warning of radar cameras ahead.
