Not such a fan of the voice actress for V. Some Lines are putting me off. It feels like overacting in some cases and in a lot of cases mid sentens the tone changes from agressiv to sensible or silent to laud for no reason. I dont know she is a quite experienced Voice Actress and ins some of the other games like Fire Emblame, Nier Automata i quite liked her.

In my Opinon most of the other cast is doing way better. You girls and guys feel the same?
I'm playing with male voice and I like V's male actor, on the other hand I have VERY underwhelmed by Keanu. I really like the guy and his acting, but this dubbing was abysmal more often than not. I get that he's not a dubber but meh... I don't know what went wrong but I feel something went wrong, the voice is too often not on tone with the mood of the scene, sometimes he says things with an extremely calm tone while from the scene and body movement you understand johnny is upset. Poor direction imo.
A real shame considered the game starred such a popular celebrity.
overall i´m rather happy with the VA but i think the faces could use a bit more visible feedback.

they have such a great software with JALI, lipsyncing into every language supporting it only to end up with only minor visible feedback of actual emotions. it´s there, just not enough, a tweaking of 5-15% would do better, imho
I've never liked having a voiced protagonist, but considering the scale and scope, it's more than passable.

All other characters are mostly exceptional, especially the many, many main ones.

I do kinda like that it is voiced still even though you choose one line and you get suddenly surprised that it was it was an aggressive tone or different you expected. I mean for metro exodus for example in a long run it feels bad that you are just nodding and only one who doesn't say anything even when you are asked questions.

Yeah, everyone feels different about it. I find I fill in the player voice in my own head with tone and everything (kind of like reading a book) so it flows pretty seamless - with a voice it breaks immersion and agency more than it assists.

100% of the time I'd choose a non-voice - but I get why people prefer a voiced character.
Similar issue with FO4, I really don't like voiced protagonists in these sort of games, and tbh I don't care much for (male) V's VA. For everything else? Passable. Not bad enough to stick out (except Cohh's NPC which was kinda cringy), but also not good enough to be memorable.

I think it it depends on a game or a voice actor and your preference indeed. In most traditional rpgs silent works but somehow what little I played Dragon quest 11 silent listening is quite horrible in that.
Some games are better for voiced acting, like Metal gear solids and I like Laura Bailey in most of her roles and of course Mass effects cast.
The majority of the voice acting is spot on. I don't think Keanu is great, but, well, that's Keanu. He's a nice guy. My main issues come from audio normalization issues (e.g., to boil it down, volume - and clarity). Sometimes a character, within the same conversation, will say things at not only a completely different volume level, but it will have different post processing applied to it, as well. Like the first half of a sentence will sound normal, like someone sitting next to you on the couch... then the next line sounds like someone shouting at you from across an airfield while a jet takes off.

Edit: Also, some lines by the same characters sound like they're read by different actors (and not just some type of processing).

I like or love all the side characters, Dexter and Jackie being excellent, but male V is just okay and female V is bad.
I dunno why some lines from Fem V are 'questionable', looking at her IMDB she's not a bad Actress, dunno why Rufus Shinra is on there though...
The Russian VO is far superior. I know it's set in America, but the Russian actors are just better. I don't like either the male or female English V actors but all the other English cast are good/passable.
I'm playing female V and I like the VO for her. Her voice is a little deep (for a feminine sound), and slightly raspy. I think its cute.

Agreed
I play in german and I gotta say:

V's voice acting is phenomenal compared to the usual stuff we get in my langauge. :D
