I never really got to see NPC behaviour in detail before I refunded the this game.

But it is pretty damning that Cyberpunk 2077 cannot get NPC behaviour fully working/responsive when GTA San Andreas got this (and many more things besides) working in 2004, sixteen years prior.

FTSO: None of them have any type of response to your actions

ast486: Wrong!

The first time I paid attention to an npc was when I had my gun out and inadvertently pointed at at a random npc on the sidewalk while looking at some thugs in the background who I was about to attack.
This was in day 1 patch.

The npc said something to indicate fear/etc and held their hands up.
Yeah, fair point, even the guy in a wheelchair stand up.

Let's refine the list.

NPCs around the city may show this routines:
- they walk.
- they run.
- they complaign.
- they get scared.
- they do little chat with each other.
- they are inside cars, but they don't show movements, it looks like the car is autonomous.
- they use food machines.
- they eat stuff.
- they stand and piss at the same time they look inside garbage. (homeless)
- they stand up in fear even of a wheelchair, if we point a gun.
- they trasncend matter.
- they die and leave bags since 1.1

ast486: Nope.
I run into pedestrians all the time when I'm running to and from the car to a mission.
They swear at me and such, but never had happen what you describe.
Play the game more, you will. 1000% guarantee.

Yeah... that wheelchair thing is pretty funny. :-)

The bag thing is a bit weird, btw.
I think it's to reduce clutter, but it's a bit immersion breaking when that happens... maybe they should have a couple minute timer on corpses before that happens.

Yeah the pedestrians are just for ambiance for me now, I used to like talking to them in games, now they just insult you and make you feel like a criminal.

This. So much this. I had so much fun in San Andreas it was great. Sadly I never finished the game because I was using a loaner PC at the time as my own couldn't handle the game, so when I gave it back I forgot to make copies of the save games and lost my game.

Will have to play it over again sometime though, great game.

Hmm, that gives me an idea... Maybe we could all make a gofundme to raise money to buy the CDPR devs a copy of San Andreas to get ideas of how police and pedestrian AI works. :) It's only 16.99 CAD on Steam right now, but if we wait for a sale we can get the whole team a copy for peanuts. Oh wait, we already gave them the money to buy it...

:)
