Many look at the new gameplay trailer, compare it to the 2018 one or sceenshots and see the blurriness / details missing. Easy to assume there was a graphics downgrade. However, it turns out its actually a mix of encoding (1080 upscaled to 4k), youtube/twitch compression and new features causing problems in this context. The same gameplay demo was also shown at gamescom in real 4k and none of the blurriness problems were visible.

If you want to know more, check out this analysis by the graphics experts from digital foundry:

They watched both gamescom 2019 and deep dive 2019 and explain the grahics upgrade (new technical features) and why they get drowned unfortunatly in all this blurriness of the public stream.

I don't trust that analysis. There is a 4 GB version of the 2019 deep dive video available. It has neglectable compression. The very visible differences between published screenshots and the video are still there. The blurriness has nothing to do with streaming or YouTube. Those screenshots simply did not use the same settings (the blurry filter, temporal anti aliasing I suppose). I'm sure there will be an option to disable that gruesome TAA when the game ships -- which I will disable along with any motion blur. It seems I'm kinda allergic to blur.

But the only thing that really worries me is the blurry HUD. That kind of error does not happen by itself, someone at CDPR had to write some code to make it this bad! Just compare 2018 and 2019 footage and you will notice that all subtitles, level and name plates, quest texts and so on seem double printed to make them look blurry. Like Kiroshi cyber eyes are no better than very old CRT :-(
