IKR?

This is probably the cause of many errors.

Instead of the actual gameplay using cpu cycles some bad script is trying to display detailed pictures of every piece of junk you bought, sold, crafted, or scrapped the last time you opened your inventory.

You can tell by how long it takes the script to actually do it's task that it's written very badly. If you save the game and quit before it's done, it will continue the next time you start playing. It's like displaying all that useless info on the screen is of the highest priority,

I've gotten into the habbit of only opening my inventory once an hour and then getting up from my desk and walking around a bit after I close it (a good practice anyways) while the games script takes it's sweet time popping all those little windows on my screen so that's it's done before I play some more.

I bet it's causing some to even CTD.
There should be the option to disable the Item preview. I'm sure if it can be modded away someone will do it soon.
I was farming a area with respawning enemies and picked up hundreds of items and got previews of them forever.
What does
Settings / Interface / HUD Visibility / Activity Log / OFF
for you?

Pretty sure that's scoial. It doesn't affect the ingame popups we are talking about.

See your name at the top of this page? Click it and click "Activity Feed". The Activity log is where that info comes from.

The game should give you a selectable on screen button that you can click open a list if you want to see the items
You could call that button ... wait for it ... wait for itttttttttttt ...

Before my first post, I had experimented with a host of HUD settings hoping to elevate immersion, so I wasn't sure about this particular effect. But at this point I'm rather confident that setting this options does the trick. :)

EDIT: Ah, no, not completely. Auto-disassembling doesn't appear anymore, but messages when leaving shop still do. It's just that I never BUY, only sell (except this one time when testing my proposal). So, sorry, that I can't be of much help. :/

Necroing this with Phantom Liberty release

When I buy some items tons of those notifications show up and they block other important job notifications, texts
It gets very annoying having Job Completed sound randomly pop up 5 minutes after I do something

Disabling "Activity Log" in interface settings doesn't help

i also think combat music doesn't play when those useless notifications are "queued up"

I remember this being annoying in my first playthrough, I started a new playthrough for 2.0 and phantom liberty and im like 100+ hours in and I just went on a spending spree and spent like 1m eddies buying clothes and these popups have been going constantly for over an hour.
