So, I did the arcade machine and codes on the terminals and all that. However I did it early on in the game. After going to the mattress and waiting, nothing happened.

I was told on reddit that you have to be in chapter 3 to get the truck.
When is that exactly?

I have the Nocturne quest (have to meet her at Embers) as well as the Phantom Liberty first mission (haven't gone in yet).

Can I still get the truck? Did I screw up by doing it early?

I found this walkthrough on Youtube:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRhYz3XqLf8

...but I cannot confirm whether it works. I'm still struggling with the Arasaka minigame in the barn, and after failing "enough" attempts, I got mad and postponed it.

I have been trying both CET codes and a character editor to unlock it, but that doesn't seem to work. Damn shame. And annoying too, because I technically already had the truck, as the CET code worked in 1.6 before I updated to 2.1.

I have a question of my own though: does the minigame difficulty (damage taken etc.) scale with game difficulty?
Am playing on Very Hard only to at least have some challenge, and if that makes the minigame essentially Doom on Nightmare, well, I'm not that good at Doom.

I'll check the walkthrough.

I didn't have much issue with the arcade machine and getting the maze and all that.
But from what I understand the difficulty in the game DOES scale with game difficulty. My friend who did it on a higher difficulty was taking far more damage per shot in the arcade game than I was.

Yes, since 1.6 they changed the code. The old Youtube link shows the old code. All 8 numbers start with 00xxx now.

Which code are you referring to? The locker / terminal code? Or is there a new CET code?
The terminal codes are updated and listed in the Youtube link.

As of Update 2.01 the codes for the terminals have been changed & are as follows:
- 00255
- 00006
- 00181
- 00051
- 00091
- 00240
- 00270
- 00420

You are right, the video description shows the old code, but the post in the comments shows the new. I just checked the description.

The code for the lock (room with numbers) didn't changed, its still 240891

Works for me. Like the video explains:
- Floor 52 in the room without stature wait until 272 seconds left (lock symbol appears)
- Room with number corners: 240891
- Elevator / Maze, back in the church.
- About 4 am: enter the 8 numbers
- Find the mattress, be there before 5.40 am.
- Wait. Normally it happens before 6 am.

Edit: I had no map marker at the mattress, so maybe you need to find it by yourself. But it still works.

Edit2: There's a mod for Arasaka 3D, removes (most) enemies' ability to attack. Helps against going mad =)

If you use AMM you can freeze the game, but you can still walk. Maybe it helps too.

I haven't even been to the chapel.
Parked bike on road, skipped time to 4:16 am on road, running up that hill to mattress, radioport and chill on mattress. Fell asleep about 55 min later. Woke up to nice view.

Yeah, I know it's possible to skip everything just to get the truck, but then you'd miss out on both the challenges and the secrets along the way.

I have deliberately not read up on all the details not to spoil everything for myself, but I was planning on taking the slow route as shown in the Youtube video.

Honestly, you aren't missing much... The whole "puzzle" feels like mocking quest to give something to chew on to all those people (with a lot of free time) that spent years trying to figure out what the hidden message about that statue was. I mean, just look at the silly stuff you have to do just to trigger such an irrelevant easter-egg. The cutscene is just not worth the hassle, and the devs did it so on purpose.

I played the minigame a couple of times, 1st time on patch 2.0, I didn't manage to beat it and left the place afterwards content with the easter-egg of the arcade machine. And then I found this thread here asking for help to get a "MONSTER TRUCK??" thought to myself..... "What?? How do I get that??". Watched the whole video, skipping some parts and realised that entering the codes is just a fucking joke in itself XD Where are the players supposed to find those codes INGAME? Other than datamining the game code, I don't see a way lmao So how is a regular person that doesn't fiddle with any of that, supposed to figure them out? You simply can't.

So I just went ahead, played the game again at around 4:50 or so. Rushed to the mattress and stayed there AFK until it triggered, shorter cutscene without meme cutscene mocking delusional players and got the monster truck.

I know what you mean. I stayed well clear of any of the "puzzles" and "teasers" that's been posted around the net regarding easter eggs in the game.

I just want to play the game, getting everything I can in a single playthrough. And if I am missing out of something because I didn't play the game the game wants me to (seriously, sometimes I don't even understand what the "good" options are meant to be), I am gladly using CET console codes. Such as the Nomad exclusive car.

And on the note of the Nomad car, playing as Corpo, I should be damn able to buy whatever I want, and secretly stash it away somewhere, knowing I would eventually get screwed over by someone. The game tells us repeatedly that is what the corporations do, and Corpo V should already know this firsthand.

Anyway, rant aside for game logic, as for the truck, I just wanted this once to do it the long way. Frankly, I would be happy to just use the CET code to get the truck back that I technically already had (CET code worked in 1.6, and the truck worked fine with the Let There Be Flight mod). But as that code no longer works, I want it back somehow - and with multiple easter eggs included, well, as I said, just this once...

But yeah, I would prefer the truck being hidden away in a secret underground garage or something, instead of all this, frankly, nonsense. A secret quest smiliar to The Highwayman would be fine.
