First of all you delay the game from April to September citing "Polish" as the reason. First of all we all know why you REALLY delayed it. TLOU2. Then there was the whole "we leave greed to others" nonsense shortly before you announced multiplayer would include micro transactions.Then you delay Nighty City wire because of "those people" NOW you delay it again for "polish it more",


I mean most developers usually delay the game once and even thats pushing it. What exactly do you think you can achieve in two months that you didnt accomplish in 6? Are you trying to make the perfect game? Heads up...ITS NOT GONNA HAPPEN. Youre still going to have to release a day one patch thats just the way games are. Youre still going to have to release fixes and updates so why not just release the game and work on it after.

All I'm saying is this better be Spiderman and Horizon Zero Dawn levels of awesome or you're going to fucking join EA and the other shitheads on the boycott list.

TLOU2 is definitely not the reason. How could it? It's 3 months to September, TLOU2 hype is gone then.

We know nothing about how the mulitplayer is going to play out. Also, they never said microtransactions, they said monetization. It's unknown how this monetization is going to look.

"Those people"... Really? There are far more important things than video games. It's just an event, that may have some new info.

They are trying to make a game that they are happy with primarily. Not you. They are not happy with the current bugs, so they push it. I'm all for it. They have to be happy with their game.

...you realise "those people" includes the creator of the original tabletop and his son, who led the development of the Witcher tabletop game right?

Anyway, it's a video game. They're working remotely. And they're human beings. So uh, give them a break? I will prioritise their health and peace over my (very adjustable) expectations. And Jimbo, I hope you feel better. You seem anxious. I'll see you in Night City.

1 Yes TLOU 2 was the reason because they were both coming out in April. Stop buying the BS.
2. You can polish a game from not until the cows come home and still not be happy with it an extra two months isnt going to change anything. An artist is their own worst critic.
3. It doesnt matter whether its single player or multiplayer you do not need microtransactions in a game plenty of companies have proven that.
4. TLOU 1 had microtransactions as did rocket league etc. Why did nobody complain about that? Why is it only EA and Ubisoft that get all the hate?

This isnt going to be a perfect game. Theres no such thing. i get that they are nervous about a new IP but delaying it wont change peoples minds about whether its good or bad and people are still going to complain no matter what you do.

I honestly think these delays are just optimisations for current console hardware and to align with or closer to New GPU & console releases. Also I dont think there is a perfect game, its always going to be subjective.

Personally im not bothered in the slightest by the delays, got a sh!t ton of games to complete in my library (Steam & GOG) and alot to play for the first time, I will probably end up doing what i do with most games and wait it out for a deep sale or wait until it is a "complete" edition.

I did see someone suggest they release a character editor like with SR3, which i think would be great so people could spend hours to months making one so they can jump straight into the game once it is out.

I don't like that they delayed it either. I can understand wanting to perfect your work, but they should be more careful about giving fixed dates then. Right now I can't even believe they will stick to this new release date, maybe they will delay it again until December, or March 2021. I was going to preorder but don't feel like it anymore, my enthusiasm for the game is really waning.

As for the game itself, I've never really understood the hype surrounding Cyberpunk 2077. I'm sure that the game graphics and all the eye-catching 'bling' will be top-of-the-line but as for the story and gameplay, which is what I care most about, it seems very cliche and uninspiring. I got no pleasure or excitement from watching the official game previews this far, they were quite frankly painfully boring. And I say this as a genuine fan of the cyberpunk game genre from way back in the '90:s. I even considered buying Cyberpunk 2077 despite my negative vibes about it just in order to support GOG but this political stunt of theirs has made sure that won't happen. Either way, GOG has already got more than enough money from me as is, LOL...

The reason for the delay is half-backed and simply a lie : rampant habits nowadays in this industry...

Sure, they have always something to polish, but at this point, the excuse is crappy.

I'm pretty sure that they will release massive patch after the launch to fix more bugs, like it was for the Witcher III.

I buying more the launch of the console at the same time...

So, one word for their explanations : bullshit!

No offense taken, but no one actually forces you to read any of it. Feel free to skip it... In my comment, I gave my perfectly valid opinion on Cyberpunk 2077. Even mentioned considering buying it as a show of support for GOG. I don't at all like what I've seen so far of Cyberpunk 2077 but I nevertheless do follow the game development and popped in here to see why it was delayed once again, found this thread and commented on it. I'm not forced to do much of anything, you're quite right, but I happen to be rather happy about pretty much everything we've heard about CP77 so far (save for the release date, obviously). And this is a CP77 board, so when people post here, I read through it, because it just might be something I didn't know.

I think you supporting GOG would be nice, but frankly I think you should do so by buying games that you actually like and feel like you might enjoy playing. I personally am a bit of a GOG fanboy but the concept has to be sustainable. And the only way to know that it is sustainable is if it works on market terms, meaning if they can keep it running while selling games that people want to play.
