When looting a body, instead of the highlighted item, I pick up something else. So for example if the loot list is ammo, weapon, food in that order and I want the weapon, I highlight it and press 'e'. I pick up the food. It's infuriating.
Am I doing something wrong or is it a known problem with the loot system? I can find plenty of complaints googling about loot that cannot be collected because it has partly clipped out of the world, but nothing about this specific issue.

I'm experiencing this as well!

It's insanely annoying because if it's only 2 items, then it doesn't always pick the wrong item.

I haven't found any solution either - hope someone finds out what's wrong.

My items arent picked up. They magically disappears.

The "E" key is also "going down" key in looting menu by default. When you press "E" to loot, your selection goes down 1 item and you pick the second item in looting menu. Solution - change key binding for "going down" in "Interface" section.
