Mirrorio: I'd be much happier if that update would bring some optimization in, honestly. With free bugfixes, thank you.
I'm always game for further optimization but personally, I feel like it runs pretty well now. At this point, I feel like the performance issues I get are more because of my hardware than the game itself.

Their sales pitch included an optimized game. They should optimize it for the hardware they sold it for. It is on them not the consumer.

I may be wrong but I never once recall them pitching "an optimized game". Frankly, who does that?

Maybe he mixed it up with the reason for the first delay when they said they needed more time to "finish playtesting, fixing, and polishing"? Polishing could be interpreted as optimisation, maybe?

Again, that only shows that they were INTERESTED in fully optimizing and polishing the game before launch until everyone whined and rushed them to get it out, thus scaring the shareholders and leading to them releasing the game a few months too early.

Yeah I don't know what exactly he meant. I'm just guessing here. That's the closest indication that I can remember although it is not exactly what he claimed.

Also, when everyone whined after the second delay, their stocks were on the decline and that scared the shareholders. Not the whining directly, it was the stocks. After the last one month delay their stocks took a huge hit and naturally they pushed the game out unfinished. What did we learn? Nothing. "Why does it take so long for the patches/updates?" is still a common question.

"Shill shill shill shill shill", is that the only word you can use when someone has a different opinion than yourself?

You understand the Corpo speech options, therefore from a Nomad point of view you must be a Corpo.

The funny thing is that, in reality, I'd be a lot closer to a Nomad in terms of my ideology lol

Due to my love of tech, this Street Kid ended up working for Corpos, therefore I also understand the Corpo speech options. Doesn't mean I like it, just understand them. But after my daily 8h is done, I don't really associate with Corpos.

Speaking of which... One time we had clients over from Japan and our CEO wanted to show them that we, too, can have fun. Organised a night out which I decided what the hell, might as well join, but the bar we went to was... ehm... lurex and disco lights. We decided to go somewhere else. No one knew anything good nearby, but there was one of my regular bars nearby. I jokingly said "shall we show them an alternative bar nearby?" Expecting laughter and dismissal. Nope, the clients and our CEO were fully on board. So we ended up in an underground punk bar where not a single table or chair matched and the walls were painted with graffiti and a thick layer of smoke that definitely was not tobacco. It was amusing to see Japanese Corpos with suits and ties mixed with spiky hairdos and studded leather jackets.

Nice, do you play the TTRPG version of Cyberpunk? The way you wrote that makes me feel like you do lol

You mean this? (pic related)

Might be my speech is somewhat influenced by many games.

My hobby: summarise a concluded forum drama in a more interesting way.

I do mean that, yeah, I have all of the source material from a Humble bundle but I'm still on the lookout for laid back people to play it with lol. I don't have much time for it and I'm not an expert of TTRPGs.. you wouldn't believe how difficult it can be to find people that tolerate that sort of person haha.

Anyways, thanks for the explanation, that's actually a really cool way to get people to cool down when drama and arguments arise!

Games are to work on the systems and specs they are advertised for. They advertise the game can work on an NES, it needs to work on an NES. If the game is advertised to work on a 1050 it needs to work on a 1050 and so forth. This is the small print in the actual advertisements. This why when people sell games they mention where the game can be played. Everyone does it.

Now, a working game also means that if your game is falling apart and assets are not rendering on the platform in which it was advertised, then there is an issue. The issue is entirely on the publisher that released the game. There is no gray area here. It is a stark fact.
