This update was disappointing to me, but after I've hard that the Devs wern't crunching to make it. It made me feel a little bit better.

I love the Premise and the ganera of the game, and its lore is rich(And mostly unused in the game).

Its sad that CDPR insted of sticking to their strong points(AKA story telling and RPG), decided to create a gta, but because of their hubris(From the success of witcher 3) they(Aka mangemant not the devs) thought that they can make a gta with CDPR story telling and RPG in the same time lolololol and as u can see failed misrabley.

If it was up to me I would cut on the open world and focus on the rpg.

They didn't make a GTA... all along, CDPR clearly stated that it was an open world, story-driven RPG based on a tabletop RPG and that's what we got. It's really not their fault that people built extremely unrealistic expectations that were entirely contrary to what the company said in the marketing. In fact, most people agree that the game's strongest point IS the storytelling. As for the RPG mechanics, it's a lot deeper of an RPG than The Witcher 3 was, yet somehow people love to make bogus claims that 2077 wasn't an RPG.

ironhorse384: I don't think any amount of patching is going to fix this mess. I find it baffling why the game prompts me to engage in conversations with npcs that I'm not even looking at when I simply want to loot a container or read a data shard. I drive over to Vik"s to get my implant installed and when I get out of the car the npcs start running and ducking for cover. I'm like wtf is going on here? I didn't run anyone over nor did I draw a weapon and shoot anybody. Loot you 'still' can't pick up. Why not just remove the unlootable loot rather than leave it in there after what six patches? I start a new game after getting another big update and it's just disappointing to see things not really improving all that much.

JakobFel: The only reason the game will never be "fixed" is because people like yourself hold impossibly high standards and refuse to give them any of the credit where it's due. This is a major problem with gamers and it's a reason (among many) that I believe that gamers, rather than studios and publishers, are the largest threat to the future of this industry.
What exact standards ?, They admitted to lying to all customer the head of CDPR owned up to it.

He did no such thing. He apologized for the state of the game and explained that they didn't expect things to be as bad as they were. He also blatantly stated that people should not be attacking the devs and that's precisely what the toddlers have been doing all along.

I'd give up, can't win against these people.
Remember what Einstein used to say... or at least, what is attributed to him.

WilliamFrost: Ambition is not an excuse for releasing a broken game. They knew it was broken that is why they apologized.
avatar
JakobFel: You're right, they apologized, because they didn't realize it was as bad as it was. They apologized, yet nobody accepted that apology, they still treat them as if they're downright evil and that is one of a million reasons why I despise the modern gamer mentality.
Yeah, the serious hate is too intense for me.

Yeah attacking devs 90% of the time is what they do everywhere, All because they don't get that the publisher is the ultimately responsible one for PR for removed features for time Crunch for destruction of core mechanics in sequels...

EA GAMES......

The Publisher actively admitted to rushing an unfinished product and went against advice for profit the company actively lied to all consumers of the product and released other statements and interviews contrary to that 1 video and letter previous to that..

They lied and you're playing factcheck.org mostly false games.

And whose fault was it that they rushed to get the game out last year? Certainly not theirs, they were the ones that delayed it multiple times until they got so much bad press that they felt pressured to get it out ASAP. The unfortunate part is that the game genuinely could have benefitted from a couple months of extra testing (or perhaps even a closed beta, they should consider those in the future).

It had nothing to do with lies. Nobody has ever been able to point out a single lie to me. Cut content is not a lie.

They didn't and I sincerely doubt you can actually give an example of that. As for the pressure, they have to satisfy their shareholders AND their customers. Here's what likely happened: the customers were pressuring them to release the game, the shareholders saw that, they approached CDPR's execs and told them, "You need to get this out this year, people won't wait much longer." What probably happened then is that Marcin and Adam, along with the other CDPR execs, saw this and thought, "The game runs well on PCs and next gen hardware, most people will probably buy the game for next gen anyways. It also runs alright on previous gen hardware (referring to the newer versions) so let's just go for it."

What they didn't realize is that the game ran like trash on launch-era versions of old gen consoles and they also didn't account for the fact that the way the engine works -- involving innovative data streaming and some other truly ambitious rendering tech -- made it really hard for them to quickly patch the game. That part was directly confirmed by the devs on the most recent Twitch stream, which also gave us hope at quicker patching and a quicker road to future new content as they said they've figured out ways to get around that issue.

In general, people don't do their research or use common sense nowadays. It's always about instant gratification, unrealistic expectations and putting words into the mouths of the developers... which is why I can't stand the modern gamer mentality.

The Devs them selfs in Jason Schrier's interview, said that mangemant wanted them to create a gta like game lololol.

Marketing stated otherwise to damge control, since the game is half baked(And Im generous since realisticly its 1/3 baked).

Lol pointing to Jason Schrier content isn't exactly presenting fact.

No you're clearly being a shill now I had the game on release it was buggy it was all that was expected from a Lie, Weapon stats and cyberware stats were broken ability and damages simply never existed, Marcin Iwinski admitted to releasing the game in a video and not listening to his staff who said it's not ready they pushed forward for the LIE

You're being a shill.
Ah, in comes the "shill" claims. Can't y'all come up with something more original instead of trying to end the argument with "you can't see reason because you're a shill and I know what I'm talking about"?

You may want to re-watch that video and actually listen to what Marcin said. He said that yes, the state of the game was poor at launch and yes, they did make mistakes. He was owning up to that. Nothing was EVER said about lies because, well, they didn't lie and you continue to avoid proving that claim.
I'd be much happier if that update would bring some optimization in, honestly. With free bugfixes, thank you.
