I note the store page lists CP2077 as works on Windows (10).

No mention of any other Windows OS, like 7 or 8.1 ??

:-(
You will have to wait until they define the system reqs to know for sure. Unless you get a GOG staff answer before that, but doubt it
Could be that they just officially have to commit to Win10 (because of the discontinuation of support for Win7 by 2020), but unofficially it will still run just fine on at least Win7.

It's the same with Iron Harvest where KINGArt later confirmed that tests on Win7 were successful.
I would hold off on preordering until they confirm it. System requirements haven't been posted anywhere yet.
The same. I do accept that, for this game, I will have to put a new GPU and CPU into my PC, maybe motherboard and more RAM as well. As a matter of fact I was delaying upgrades of my machine, waiting with it for Cyberpunk. But I am not installing Windows 10 spyware system, no matter what.

Then you probably should plan to switch from gaming on PC to gaming on a console...
Windows 7 is going to have reached EoL by the time game releases, so no reason to support it, which only leaves 8.1. That one might be supported if game uses DX11.

Consoles are for children.
I think they will still support Win7 in the end. There are still many out there who don't want Win10 - supported or not. Excluding those (at least officially) would not benefit them in case they actually should know that it is running on Win7 as well - and why shouldn't it, as long as they don't use DX12?

And Windows 7 and 8.1 don't support new CPUs and GPUs and neither do those manufacturers support those OSs. So either you stop upgrading your PC, upgrade to Win10 or get a console. You are running out of options.

If they say "you need win10 to play" it will be a good reason to change the system :D

I am pretty sure they are using only DX12 so my bet is that it won't work on older Windows. A huge majority of those that still use Win7 are corporate users. Upgrading is a big cost for a corporation and they are happy to just have Word and Excel working.

Actually it was the other way round: Newer CPUs stopped supporting Win7 because Microsoft demanded it. After all those CPUs still support the x86 Standard, so there's no technical limitation that would prevent this.

Hello all,

who really care anymore about w7 or even w8 ???

By the time the game will be on the market, w11 would be out too !!!

Probably not. Microsoft made it pretty clear that Window 10 is the last major iteration of Windows, and that they will just treat it as a service and continue to upgrade it over time.
