franky-boy: cdpr asked nexusmods to ban this mod and it was done.
Aren't there laws against using someone's likeness to create content that shows sexual acts? I think when deepfakes became easily accessible many countries adopted new laws against them.
If CDPR hadn't
requested Nexusmods they ban the mod, CDPR could be criminally liable. If Nexusmods hadn't banned the mod, they could be criminally liable. If a gamer uses the mod and shows it to the public, the gamer could be criminally liable. And in this case, both CDPR and Nexusmods would be protecting the unthinking gamer from themselves.
If it is indeed this what OP is referring to, then, to me, it sounds like:
*modders do something that might results in massive lawsuits for everyone involved*
CDPR: "Hey, Nexusmods, we have enough court cases for now. Could you remove this one mod because it's a poop catapult aimed at an industral sized fan and it could go off at any moment."
Nexusmods: "Hey, yeah, thanks for letting us know. We also don't want to deal with lawsuits right now."
*removes one mod that may or may not break laws in several countries*
Thirstybois: "CDPR IS KILLING MODDING!"
