With or without Galaxy?

With Galaxy: From the game page, click on the settings menu (the button with an settings icon on the right of the Play button). Then "Manage Installation" and "Configure...". In the pop-up, select the version at the bottom of the first tab. Be aware that it will download the whole game again.

Without Galaxy: The only offline installer available is 1.63; there is no 2.0 any more, and there is no patch from 1.63 to 2.0. In other words, it's not possible. If you have the patience, you can contact the support.
Have you tried this yourself? It doesn't work. I get a "update failed" error when trying to go from 2.01 back to 2.0

It worked for me. Not sure what would keep it from working. It did redownload 87GB worth of data though.

Galaxy fails a lot when installing and updating. Since you'll have to download the whole files again to downgrade, you may as well uninstall the game and reinstall it. That increases your chances slightly, from experience, or maybe I was just lucky.

Hmm, my only explanation for this is that I have enough GB on my SSD for one instalation of CP. However maybe GOG downloads the entire CP 2.0 version while keeping my initial installation intact. Hence doubling the instal size which then gives me the update error? Anyway I'l be testing this later possibly but I might just stick with the Steam downgrade trick. And refund my DLC purchase on GOG.

I think it's what I wrote above here. But I'm not sure. Redownloading and installing the game multiple times I've already tried so thats definitely not it

It's likely Galaxy does that, yes, unless you uninstall the game first. Did you specify another location as temporary update and downloads folders? If you have another disk like a HD, those options are very helpful when updating big games.

No I don't think I did that. But I had to clear some space after this failed for another installation so I happen to have the space now. However I'm first trying the Steam downgrade trick since that's the initial platform I had the game on. I only switched to GOG because I knew they had the rollback feature haha

Yeah okay the Steam depot downgrade thing was too much of a hassle and the end result wasn't a guaranteed 2.0 experience to me anyway. So I went back and made sure double the storage was available on my SSD. And it works now lol. So yeah turns out GOG needs the install size 2x if you want to do the rollback. Took me a day to realize this. Hopefully it helps someone else in the future haha.
