I played the game when it came out, and figured this out, so this is embarrassing, but whatever.

I'm stuck at the breach hacking tutorial. I'm suffering from the 21:9 aspect bug (the screen is cut off and the important help text is hidden under black bars). So I've been trying to figure out breach hacking via trial and error and I've failed. I'm on pc, using mouse and keyboard.

From what I can see, you can only control movement along either one column or one row at a time. Is there a way to undo a choice and go back? Is there any way to jump across columns or rows?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
I do not know a way to undo a click but if you have enough empty spaces left you can simply start with the first code item and then complete it - that is btw. also how you do multiple hacks at once.

You have all the time to find the right route to at least 2 hacks and often for all 3.

You start with one of the code items in the top row.

The first column after that is allways vertical and then it switches between horizontal and vertical columns each step.

Here is a tutorial vid from old cyberpunk - it has not changed afaik.

Been using the breach system so often I had to read this multiple times before I got the issue, sorry.

You can't undo a selection, but the simplest way to cancel a breach is to press escape before having completed any hack inserts. Note that this will come with a penalty of having less and less time to complete the breach on consecutive attempts.

Also note that the breach protocol has been basically removed with the 2.0 patch, so now it's only used for access points, at least that I have seen.

When you first start a breach, and you click on a number on the top row (you must start at the top row), you are then limited to a number from the column underneath that row, and then limted to the number on the following row. There is no row or column skipping.

My advice is to just hover over the numbers with your cursor, and trace and memorize the pattern of the numbers you want. The countdown timer doesn't start until you have clicked on a number, so you have all the time you want when you first enter the breach (as it were).

Which game version are you on? I can't remember having seen this issue since the 1.06 patch. And I play at an aspect ratio up to 48:9.

I'm on 2.01. I'm at 3440x1440, and there are a few ultrawide resolutions that the game still doesn't handle well.

In that case, I gotta say I find it quite unbelievable that CDPR still hasn't added full ultrawide support for their flagship game 3 years after release.

I'm playing either at 2560x1440 or 7680x1440 (single or triple 27" HP Omen monitor in Nvidia Surround), and all that happens for me in "unsupported" parts of the game (like menus) is the left and right monitor going black, with everything running normally at standard 1440p on the middle monitor.
