Ok so I've never seen hdr settings like this... I don't know which of the 2 types of HDR I should use not do I know what midpoint setting I should use or what it even means.

I keep changing settings and whites seem blown out at all times even when I lower peak to well below settings I've used in other games. It also doesn't help that the screens used to make your settings are garbage and don't seem to change!

The HDR setting screen needs to be changed in 2 ways. First it should show the game itself, as in right where you paused it. Second it absolutely needs to explain what the settings mean.

CDPR is generally good about making confusing things better after release. Witcher 3's inventory system is a good example. That being said. Whoever came up with this HDR setup is insane.

Thanks for any replies. Oh and I'm playing on a 2016 LG OLED. 65" model C6p. I'm going to upgrade to a Cx soon but for now that's what i got.

I agree. This is the worst HDR settings UX I have ever experienced. It needs completely retooled into the more common logo on white and logo on black backgrounds with a slider. You could even keep these advanced options if need be, but this is completely unusable as-is.
hdr is broken in this game
its basically sdr being converted to hdr.

it looks awful and its like the art designers have never used hdr before.

Thanks for the link, I've seen it but it should be good for anyone wondering why they can't dial in decent HDR settings which is a shame since this game is literally begging to be in proper HDR. Hopefully it's something they can fix.

I switched to using SDR before vincent made the video. I spent like 2 hours messing with the settings and recalibrating my display to try and make it look decent but the results always ended up either being washed out or with detail crushed out.

It's kinda like the HDR in RDR2...I'd actually tie them both for worst HDR in a game because they are just re-tonemapped SDR just like horizon zero dawn is on pc. Wish companies would knock that crap off.
