Hello all, so this year before the patch 2.0, i finished CP2077, it ran almost flawlessly on my PC with graphics tweak here and there.

Now after patch 2.0, i simply cannot play the game with any settings i use, the graphics quality is ugly, i haven't checked the FPS but it's around 30-50 FPS. I have tried everything, reinstalling it, updating GPU drivers, using best settings from PC Gamer article, DLSS, turning off RT and whatnot, the game is unplayable for me, and just 2-3 months ago i finished the main game, pre 2.0 patch.

I've checked the readings and my CPU is at more than 80% usage and my GPU is at less than 10% when running the game!

Not to mention i play other games on my PC on Ultra settings without any issues and my GPU hits 90-92% usage. I still haven't bought Phantom Liberty, because after patch 2.0 my PC is not able to run the game at all.

Any help? Thanks in advance.

My PC's specs:

OS: Windows 10 (64-bit)

CPU: i7 10700

GPU: RTX 4070Ti

RAM: 16GB

Monitor resolution/refresh rate: 1080p / 165 Hz.

It's strange; I have the same specs except an RTX 3070 and my monitor is fixed at 60 Hz. The GPU is significantly more stressed in 2.0 than in version 1.62 (I skipped 1.63), but it's running fine without RT, within the 40-50% range.

The CPU is usually in the 40% area in the city, probably a little more during intense fights.
With RT, it increases to 60. I haven't tested RT Ultra but it should consume even more.

Is it a clean installation, or did you just update? Seeing how Galaxy messes up installations, it wouldn't be surprising if the configuration or the game itself were messed up.

I would first disable cloud synchronization, then move the configuration directory elsewhere (as a backup) and launch the game again to generate a new config, tune the graphics, and see if there's any difference. If not, I'd uninstall everything, delete the new configuration directory and re-install the game from scratch.

If that works, you may attempt to get your saved games back by copying those files only.

You can also check in the Nvidia panel if there's any specific option for CP 2077 that's different than the other games, but I don't believe you'll find the cause there.

How do you disable cloud sync? It is what keeps crashing my game but the button to disable it is greyed out.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but your problem is your processor. A 10th gen 10700 is bottlenecking your gpu. You need at least a 12900 to get 60 fps max settings. A higher-end 40series card has no business being paired with a 10th gen intel. That’s insane. The main issues are crowd density and RT. The reason you could do it pre 2.0 is because the minimum and recommended specs were lower. With 2.0. The specs are quite a bit higher. Simply lower your crowd density and max out RT since you are CPU bottlenecked. Either that, or raise the resolution to 1440p because your GPU can chew through this game no problem.

I have a 3090 paired with a 10900K. The only way for me to do a locked 60 fps is to use DLSS balanced at 1440p resolution, max settings, Psycho RT, and medium crowd density. If I bump it to high density, I get drops to 39 fps. Also, I can do full PT at a locked 40 fps with those same settings. Why? Because I”m CPU bound too.

Edit: the game gets sluggish as well if your RAM has a high latency. CL16 is best. The other thing is, you need to lower the refresh rate of the monitor. You cannot even achieve 60 and you are playing at a refresh of 165. That’s an issue in this game as it has problems with gsync and framepacing issues. I’d lower my refresh to 100 or some and fps limit with RivaTuner.

Also, you need to delete user.jsm file after each patch so as not to get conflicting settings.
