Is there a way to get this game on blu ray discs?! I have preordered it back in the day, downloaded and played, then unistalled. Now I want to play it again but don't want to wait several hours for downloading 100+ GB files and then another hour to install it >.>
Which version of the game have you downloaded already? If it is anything past 2.0 (Phantom Liberty release), then you won't be missing much.

As for any physical media...not that I know of, not for the complete game with the expansion.

Old files are from 2 years ago.

One of the flaw of XXI century right there >.>
Buy hard drives and save all of your game installers (and your Steam installations if you use that service).

This is exactly why I built my home server. First it was for convenience, and then a 10 GbE home net science project, with NVMe drives as "cache" drives on both ends. And when that finally turned out satisfactory, I added more hard drives. Currently at 100 TB. <3

I would like to know more about the hardware/software that you used for this setup.

Sure. I did it as simple as possible - just a regular Windows PC with a bunch of hard drives.
As it's not a game server, or not connected to the internet at all, I didn't need a GPU (onboard graphics is plenty for installation and setup).

Specifications:
- Windows 10 Pro

Hardware:
- Fractal Design Define R6 Black (simple steel case that can handle up to 17x 3,5" drives)
- Asus ROG STRIX B365-G Gaming m-ATX(was supposed to be "F"-Gaming (ATX), but I missed that detail when ordering...)
- Intel i7 9600K (enough cores and speed to actually handle 10 GbE transfers)
- 2x 16 GB (4x 8 GB) Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200 Mhz CL16 (running at default 2666 MHz for stability)
- Corsair TX850M (a good PSU is important for reliability. From Corsair, I recommend either TX, HX, AX or RM series)
- Thermalright TRUE Copper (had a spare one in a box, but any decent air cooler is enough for silent operation, such as Noctua U12S)
- Noctua HT-H1 (thermal paste)
- ASUS XG-C100C 10 Gbit NIC (want to save some here, get the TP-Link TX401 - it's the same AQtion AQN-107 chip)
- Noctua NF-A14 PWM casefans (only fans I found that was both silent and good enough - tried both Fractal, Noiseblocker and Corsair fans)

Hard drives (I don't need any RAID for my needs, and it would only complicate things, so I am running them all as JBODs):
- HighPoint Rocket 640L 4P SATA III (4-port SATA-controller)
- Samsung 860 EVO 250 GB SSD (OS)
- Corsair Force MP600 1 TB NVMe (network upload drive)
- Seagate Enterprise Capacity v5 8 TB
- Seagate Enterprise Capacity v6 10 TB
- Seagate Enterprise Capacity v6 10 TB
- Seagate Exos X16 16 TB
- Seagate Exos X18 18 TB
- Seagate Exos X18 18 TB
- Seagate Exos X20 20 TB

- APC Back-UPS CS 500 UPS (battery backup)
- TP-Link TL-SX1008 8-port 10 GbE switch (tried the Zyxel XGS1250-12 at first, but wanted more 10 GbE ports)

NOTES:
32 GB RAM isn't necessary, but I did it because of an issue I thought was RAM-related - turns out Asus Armoury Crate DOES NOT LIKE being installed on a PC without internet. About every month, the system would become unresponsive - not accessible on the network, and I would only see a black screen with a frozen mouse cursor if I connected a screen.
Since having it online was not something I wanted, I uninstalled Armoury Crate, and have never had the issue since.

Server is connected to the main PC through the SX1008 switch with regular Cat.6 STP-cables. Having shared all drives with full access, set manual IP / DNS / Gateway (use 127.0.0.1 if PC is offline) on both 10 GbE NICs, the server is accessed like any network machine. With favourite network folder shortcuts added under My Computer for convenience. Using TeamViewer for any remote maintenance from the main PC.

PaladinNO: Sure...
Thanks for the information! I didn't know you had replied until just now.

EDIT: You seem to answer a question I have had --- whether or not Windows 10 will function without an internet connection (except possibly for activation).

Sure thing - I didn't notice your question until the day I wrote the answer. ^^
I don't check in here too often. Don't know your network skills, so I tried to keep it simple. :)

Here is a test of the effective speed I get - stays steady at 776 MBps between (PCIe gen. 3) NVMe SSDs.

As for offline WIndows 10...yeah, it does work after it is set up. So obviosuly you'll need internet for the initial install, Windows updates and any driver installations you don't already have on local disk or pendrive.

I get the sense Windows 10 isn't made for continuous offline operation though. Features eventually become inaccessible until you've done a restart, such as the Windows Security tab. And several other system settings just feels slow to open or access without internet. But none of this really matters to me, as the server is just running with little to no local interaction - all I really do with the machine is fetch files over the 10 Gbit house network from my main PC.

But I have a second network cable, connected to the modem, ready in case I do need internet on my server for some reason. I just leave it unplugged. And since both my main PC and the server has 2 network cards, I can have both machines connected to both each other, locally, and to the internet at the same time if I need it. Static IP settings on the 10 GbE card, making it a separate VLAN, and automatic IP settings on the regular card (the one on the motherboard) for internet.

Got some pics of my main setup here:

Not much to see in the server, other than a stack of drives and cable managing after the "IDGAF"-principle. xD
