I play on following system:
Intel Core i9 11900
NVidia Geforce RTX 3080 Ti
32 GB RAM 3600 MHz
Windows 11 x64 Pro
I play on a 5120x1440 Display - before the latest update without any issue.

The drivers and OS are fully updated, I verified the installation like 3 times, reinstalled 2 times, deactivated the overlay, had every other app closed and did everything else there is recommended. It didn't help.
I even downgraded the graphics and video settings to medium (but denied to shut off RTX or DLSS though, bc i didn't buy this machine to not use it's potential!) but still crashes every 15-25 minutes.

Before the last update I've played it for hours without issues. I don't know what is going on now.

I always sent the bug reports when I could - except the two times when the game even made my PC restart.

Please help. I lingered in Night City for about 400 hours and i really don't want to leave it now forever out of pure frustration.....

With shutdowns over time, I see 2 potential problem sources:
1 - Temperatures. Overheating CPU or GPU. I have the 10th gen i9 myself, and the 11th gen. is known to run extremely hot. You want at most 80°C on the CPU and 90°C on the GPU (hotspot). Lower is better.

2 - Power supply. With that setup, anything less than a quality 1000 W PSU is an invitation to problems due to the power spikes the 30xx-series can pull. A 850 Watt Gold-rated PSU is not enough.

If the PC even restarts on its own, what does your Windows error logs say? If it says "Event 41, Kernel-Power" at the time of the shutdown, you may want to consider upgrading your PSU. In that case, I'd recommend either Seasonic SSR-1000PD or Corsair HX1000 or anything similar or better.

Also, if it restarts on its own, disable automatic restart. That way, if what you got was a blue screen (BSOD), you will at least see it the next time it happens and can actually troubleshoot the issue.

My own specs:
Intel i9 10900K OC / under-Volted @ 5.00 GHz all-core / 1.235 Volt
Asus ROG Z490 XII Hero
Gigabyte RTX 3080 Aorus Xtreme
Corsair 64 GB 3200 MHz RAM
Corsair HX1200 PSU
Windows 10 x64 Pro
3x 2560x1440 (7680x1440) in Nvidia Surround

Never had a single issue with CP77 (patch 1.03 -> 1.6), apart from mods that sometimes crash the game.

1.) GPU is stable at around 80 °C - Same btw for the Witcher 3 HD with RT Ultra Settings. No problems here, played it for 2 hours straight yesterday after cyberpunk crashed again. CPU runs around max 60 °C - its liquid cooled.

2.) Power Supply: be quiet! Straight Power Platinum 1000 Watt. Seems to be enough.

I also tried the functionality w/ other "hardwarehungry" games (to name a few):
- AC Vallhalla used to crash pretty often, but not after I downgraded the Video Options from Ultra to High
- Anno 1800 w/ max settings - no problem here
- Ghostwire Tokyo max settings - no remarkable problems
- Baldurs Gate 3 Ultra Settings - no problems

It's hard to make out the source of the problem - specially because CP2077 used to run smoothly until now.
And what's even the point in setting system requirements if even the recommended setup for max settings doesn't work?!? (asked myself the same when i needed to downgrade the graphics in AC Vallhalla)

I Bought this PC last year, and CP2077 was one of the first games I installed and played on this machine - Without Problems.

Could the OS be the problem? I Have played it until January w/o issues though...

Okay, so the temps sounds fine. And the PSU should also be good enough.

What does the Windows error logs say?

If the game started to crash after you updated it, can you roll it back? The "1.61 DLSS patch" is ONLY for RTX 40xx-series GPUs, and is known for causing issues if that's the patch you updated the game to.

EDIT:
@ CyberBobber
Your personal characters isn't helpful here. Nor is "it works" without any additional context, like which patch you are on.

I am having fun with the game too, but that is hardly relevant for someone who currently cannot play the game.

Sounds pretty odd, my comp is like 5 year old and works great at high settings. Occasionally it gets laggy when I run on very crowded areas. I had one freeze when I met Delamate? first time. He just looked at me and nothing happened.

Im having so much fun with this game, second play and street credit is at 50. Sandevistan + Monowire = fun. More fun than my Shotgun Netrunner I played first time.

I think Im gonna play third time as Tech Guy. Wish they would replace Keanu with someone else like Idris Elba? Idris Elba could fuck Sasha Grey etc.

At the least I want to say I am really sorry you’re having these issues, that sounds like a great PC (i9-9900k, 32 GB RAM, 2080 Ti on 2560x1440). I haven’t had any of these issues you’re talking about. I may have missed it but have you tried rolling back your drivers to a previous version you remember working well? It’s been a while since I tried it but I remember Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU from Wagnard) being a popular method for doing a totally clean uninstall of GPU driver prior to a reinstall (I’d double check with the NVidia forums first as DDU isn’t official and it’s been a long while since I used them (though it’s still popular by appearance)).
Past that, is this a prebuilt or something you put together yourself? I hope you’ve been in touch with CDPR support on this because you definitely deserve to enjoy a game you purchased.
Edit: Pretty obvious thing but I should have asked, are you using any mods or is this a clean installation?
