So i have started a new game with version 1.06, and i did see on the Internet that you could get a cat to your home by doing the quest "Feed the Cat". You are supposed to find the shard with the info about the quest in the dumpster bin to the left of V's apartment, i have looked in every bin on that floor and the other ones but there is no shard to be found with that quest?

What am i doing wrong?!

I'm in Act 2 and got this shard.
For the cat no quest will be in your log.

I want a cat. I didn't know this was a thing, I've only seen one cat in the game. Gonna go dig in the dumpsters I'm in act 3.

For the cat no quest will be in your log.
No i have just started a new game, have only got the Flathead spider robot and are on our way to the hist.
So the shard will be there in act 2, good to know because it didn't say anything about that on the website i found out that you could get a cat :)

Thanks to OP I have a cat meow. =^.^=
The game shows you a cat during a mission in act 2. I assume the cat shows up at your apt building after that.

Oh hell no!

Make it like FO4 where I can shoot them in the head with different weapons to determine if the game is properly simulating the different caliber and velocity speeds by how far their little corpse fly!

PS This is a game, never harm animals IRL! Unless your going to eat them ofc.

I had not started a new game and had the shard pop way earlier, i thought the quest was broken, because the vowl was missing, so i advanced to maeeting Takamura in the Cafe, and then when i went back to the apt. the bowl showed up again.

Yes i noticed that to, it is bound to the Takamura mission but i was also in act 2 so i can't be 100% sure that it i not an requirement.

There's actually some lore as to why most animals are dead in 2077, the game is quite generous considering what's coming to the planet..

Not sure if that is intended but there is an easter-egg there, but only if care to read background shards and know specific poem of one of the writers mentioned on them.

Google: "Die? One does not do that to a cat".


So now after reading this - will you feed the cat again or let it remain stray cat?

You have a cat living in your apartment and interacting with everything you interact there (Who puts a food into the cat's bowls?, Who adjusts the box it's living in? Who empties the box that is in the toilet? Other thing that would come out if you really live in the same space with the cat), however for whatever reason you cannot pet (in a definition of a "to stroke in a gentle or loving manner") that cat, yet you still can do that to some random cat next to the Viks Clinic. I would love to know what is the lore reason for that other than somebody (whoever was adding "Feed teh Cat" quest line) just did not thought that if you have an animal in your house it is a bit more than just a decoration or a trophy.
