The game reacts with how much pressure you put on the triggers when accelerating. Most of the time you should be going at a steady pace, and drive like you would in real life (respect stop signs, etc). Remember that more speed = less control.

I agree, it's not too bad, Not quite GTA V, but ok-ish. What causes me a lot of grief is how narrow the streets are. Most are single lane streets so you have very little space.

Using mouse and KB took afew hours to get used to it... biggest issue when I started was with the corsair KB which has super sensitive keys, felt liike I was playing the original Carmageddon, but not to bad now and enjoying it.

AsphaltKiller1995: i like it how the cars are acting here.
the first 1-2 times it was hard but when you know how the car acts it`s 100% fun and you can rush with over 100mph through night city, also driving slowly is great here so many details..
the only thing sucks is that i never came out the car park..so many npc`s who didnt let me out :D

I really had a blast when I could just press and hold [W] key on my bike when I was driving on the highway and didn't have to worry about any sharp turns (especially fun in 1st person perspective).
However, constant need to "tap" keys to never go too fast or to turn too sharply is breaking my immersion more than technical bugs and even my alt-tabbing during loading screens...

AZaph, I know I can look left and right but my character can barely see over the door or dash, makes it useless.

Now that I've gotten used to it, driving in first person perspective with M+Kb works pretty well and is actually fun. You can look to the left and right with the mouse so you don't run anyone over. I also like how the interiors of the cars are designed and the sound while inside the car.
Edit: Right, it's true that visibility to the sides could be better, also no rear view mirror..
Also, during the day it's often too bright in cockpit view

Hopefully some of you can help me/us with that glare out.
I am getting the same while driving ocassionaly; I will drive along fine and then will get 15 or 20 seconds of just white out glare like I have never had in any other game. Is this a weakness of my 1070ti card?

my bad, there is a setting under gameplay, driver camera height that does not fix this but makes driving a bit easier.

My biggest problem is the Beast during the racing side quest. Seriously it handles like the Mako in Mass Effect.

I guess I'm lucky, but I'm using a Wooting Two keyboard, and so have analogue control on WASD, so I get the best of both worlds. And for me, driving is pretty good, especially motorcycles!
In fact, I'd say the driving feels better than quite a few other open world games, such as Watchdogs 2.
My only issue with using my Wooting is that like most AAA games, the on-screen control hints are constantly flicking between controller and M&KB. I wish developers would offer an option to lock to one or the other, but understand I'm in the minority, so probably not a priority.

The driving in this game is very good but the problem most players have is that they're trying to treat a vehicle like a player character. Cars accelerate, pushing on the accelerator means you go faster. No one wants a game where vehicle physics feels like you're just a player character walking.
It's rather easy to get well up to 100 mph and zip around. The braking on the cars is fantastic (meaning cartoonland braking, but you stop with absolute ease)
Though, because the game allows drifting (which not many people are used to since all modern cars are equip with Electronic Stability Control) it might just be that you're a bad driver in real life and don't realize that your car is actively trying to prevent a spin out from you yanking the wheel at high speeds. Nudge the wheel, let off the gas when maneuvering, If you want to do a high speed u-turn know that you need to actually brake (It's pretty fun to do laps this way).
Driving is great! Don't know what you all are talking about

I'm on console and while not the best, it's a far cry from 'horrendous'.
I just want GPS on the roads not just the map, I've missed so many turn offs it's not even funny.
