Seriously, were the perks and items related to swimming added just for Yahtzee's Deus Ex song meme? Where in the hell in the released game is this stuff useful? Swimming was actually MORE useful in Deus Ex.

Yes, and don't select the 'Advanced Skinner' perk either.
My guess is that little sunken town was supposed to be more then it is now. like 4 houses, a church, and a gas station. Even the little shard thingy talks about the people issues prior to the flooding.

You think so? I doubt it for the town specifically - seemed quite complete to me for its purpose... Maybe other voyages - yes.
Didn't even know there was swimming.

what section and sub tab is it under?

I think it's not swimming per se but more oxygen or something like that when swimming...

Body or Athletics...

OHHHH no wonder I never saw it.
Athletics only went up 4 times in my entire play through, so I didn't even bother reading through those.
They REALLY need to make athletics easier to level!

I finished athletics on level 2. Despite opening all doors with bare hands :))

yeah it sucks. :-(
I opened some doors with muscle, I sprinted when on foot anytime i wasn't in combat... I took double jump and jumped over a lot of objects while sprinting.... yeah... they need to fix that.

If you swim across, there's a structure that you can't get close to. it turns you back saying you can't go there.
If you cross the dam, and find a way down on the other side, there's a fuming pile across the garbage. The plume of smoke you can see from the dam. As you approach it, you get a msg that says you can't get there YET. So, they either planned it being a DLC or it was closed and just made inaccessible due to the other delays and issues.

That whole area is a garbage pit between 2 dams. It would be enough space to drain the little lake there. There's also a very nice road that leads down to the submerged town.

Isn't that the general limiter - when you go somewhere to the edge of the map / developed world then you get told that you can't go there yet?
