What is the exact free space requirement to install and run CP77 on a PC? I know that the download itself is about 70GB. I assume it is compressed, so needs to be uncompressed. The worst case scenario possible is 70GB download + 140GB for uncompressed date gives 210 GB (I cannot afford that much). The best case scenario is that the game will take only these 70 GB and nothing more. I hope somebody from GOG can answer this question precisely.

The system requirements are the most precise thing we have. The space required are 70 GB.

but OP has a point: either the download itself would be less than 70 GB (significantly) or the disk space needed would be larger than 70 GB, since you need to store the installer somewhere. That would be nice if it's only a 30 GB download (I imagine the installer will be smaller than the installed game, due to compression techniques). I'd like to hear from anyone who can clarify this as well.

edit: aside from a self-modifying installer which deletes parts of the installer as it unpacks, the installer will be making copies of a lot of the data, and it sounds like OP just wants to know what the real space requirement is to install a digital copy of the game.

Seems like someone doesn't want to uninstall any of their games or delete any files.

Dude. if you can't hack it, don't try.

If space is an issue just do what needs to be done. Get a new storage and store files you absolutely need to the new one or better yet. Install it to a new SSD.

Some gamers have gaming laptops with "small" SSD disks inside. Connecting new SSD via USB may be to slow for CP77.
I'm curious about this, too. Usually with Steam the preload is just one large encrypted archive and it has to extract everything before it can delete it, meaning you need twice the listed hard drive space initially to preload. I have no idea how GoG handles preloads, but would like to know.

70 GB is the uncompressed size of the installed game (at least that's how I understood it). If it's going to be similar to The Witcher 3 (35GB installer and 50 GB uncompressed, so a 0.7 compression ratio), then the download will be about 50 GB. That would add up to about 120 GB but likely a bit more space than that is required for temporary files during download and installation.

If you're short on storage but have an external drive, just copy the downloaded installer there first, and install the game from the external drive. It'll take longer but need less space.
So i have uninstalled some games from my D drive, now i have 90,2 GB. Do you think that should be enough?

EDIT: Okay i uninstalled some more games, now i have 121 GB

I've cleared space on my M.2 NVMe. I have 147GB free. I think that'll be enough.

The preload is 59GB. So I guess they're on target for the 70GB disk space required. I doubt we'll have to download 11GB on release day. Probably there will be uncompressing of files to reach the final result of 70.
i would leave 90+ storage space if i were you, 150+ to be safe.
This is crazy. The new patch 1.05 requires 70GB free disk space to be installed! That means that CP needs 140 GB of disk space - 70 GB temporarily + 70 GB for the game. Who invented such patching process?!

Please at least add an option to set location for temporary files while patching.

[EDIT: They have added that functionality in Dec 16 beta release]
