I was being an idiot and disassembled all my ionic weapons, while specing heavily into crafting. The whole point being that I can create the epic/ legendary varieties. Is my play through completely wasted? Or is there anyway to fix this?

When you get an iconic weapon you also should get the crafting recipe. So you should be able to craft it. At least that was the case with the one iconic weapon i found so far.

This has been my experience too. Of course, you might not have all of the crafting perks required to craft it though depending on the weapon.

But that crafting recipe is for the higher tier version, and requires the original from what I can tell.
I made the same mistake as the OP, and would now appear to have no way to get those Iconics back.
I wish the game would let you lock certain items so you don't junk them.
