Hey guys, I am really at my wits end. I played completely fine for a few main and side missions but recently the game crashes a few minutes into the game.
I can't think of any reason, I even tried all the workarounds, fixes that are spread over the internet but nothing worked.

I attached my crash logs but I can't make any sense out of them for even trying to fix it myself. I held off and after I year I thought that with 1.52 stuff should be fixed and super polished by now, so a game breaking bug is tha last I would have expected.

P.S.I couldn't upload the json nor a txt file, so here you get a juicy picture of the text :)

Edit: Here's the user settings.pastebin /7JMpSuYU

Edit2: I tried using the lowest graphics possible but still the same. Everything is perfect and almost exactly after 6 minutes the game flatlines.

Are you on Windows 7 or 10?
10, latest update, all up to date drivers

Ah. I was afraid you were going to say that...

I had comparable issues on 7 that (to a degree) I was able to straighten out by the time 1.52 came out.

Since moving the game to an offline partition running 10, I haven't really had any problems. Sorry mate :(
Thank you for trying though :)

It's super weird. The crash happens a few minute into the game, it's the classis ACCESS_VIOLATION one.
I even started a new game since I thought my save was corrupted but no, same issue, even in the starting bathroom when playing corpo.

The most baffling thing is that it startet several hours into the game. The first hours were flawless.

Writing this it occured to me that I should just reinstall the game maybe. File integrity checks did nothing though,

Did you change any hardware since installing the game, or install / turn-on any new background services?

The partition I run the game on has nothing but CP and Win 10, with everything but the bare minimum service-wise turned off. It's not what I'd call an elegant solution, but (if you can go that route) it works :)
Fixed! A complete reinstall fixed it. Puzzling why the fix game data thingy from GOG didn't work.
I can play may savegame fine now.

The game froze really badly one or two times in the beginning where maybe some files got damaged.
Anyway, game works now. Happy player :)

All's well and all that :)

Glad to hear you got your problem straightened out.

I'm having literally the exact same issue on Win 10 as well.. updated my graphics driver only a few months old anyway.. turned off GOG and Geforce overlays.. verified/repaired game files.. lowered graphics settings in game and still the same issue. Time to reinstall the game and hope that works as it did for you.

I'm baffled that this game was so rushed that even after almost two years of it's release that things as breaking as this still occur. (I am a huge witcher game series fan and am saddened that the corpos apparenty took over CDPR)

EDIT / UPDATE: after reinstalling the game on a second try, (first time it failed so had to manually delete files as it showed only "install" as an option at that point.. I succesfully reinstalled it, and it actually loaded into my save at that point.. and then crashed a minute later, then booted it back up and crashed again before getting to the title screen like it was before.

Starting to loose hope of figuring it out at this point.

Try to lock the game to 30 fps.

Tried that already actually, Ianother thing i've tried is deleting the LocalAppData which resets the video/graphics settings and that gets me a few extra minutes in the game, but back to crashing.
