Where are people getting the idea its windows 10 exclusive in the first place? has something been said on twitter or something?
For example because it's developed use dx12, which, for the most time of the development, was not supported by win7. there a some poeple stating cyberpunk was developed for win 7, but until now none of them has posted any kind of proof or hint for this theorie(at least not in this forum).
Because it's more likely that the only supported OS is the OS this game was developed for and because some of the tools used for development are/were not supported by win 7(at least for the most part development).

You are right, we don't know for which OS Cyberpunk was developed, but , at least for me, it seems more reasonable that Cyberpunk was developed for the OS, which is the only supported and allowed to use all features from the start.

CDPR had the chance to give a statement, but they didn't. Most likely because what ever they would have said(maybe except "ohh, sorry we simply forgot to put win7 into the requirments"), would only heat up this rather useless discussion.

https://www.gog.com/game/cyberpunk_2077 and look at the list of supported OSes. The only entry there is "Windows (10)".

ast486: I was going to preorder this, then I saw it's winblows 10 only. :-E
Windows 10 is a spyware filled piece of crap!

Why can't they make it work in win7?
It supports dx12 from what I understand.
Windows 7 being kicked off list by microsoft is the only reason they didn't release this year, and is going to wait another fing year for Win 10 Only.. Seems like We Loyal Supporters of goodoldgames here are getting screwed over. I wonder if microsoft paid them for that BS move or did they really decide to do it themselfs.

Don't get me wrong, but at the E3 even the Cyberpunk demo crashed(with a Titan RTX which cost around $2700). This was only a demo, a small, special prepared part of the game and it did run on a ultra high performance pc, specially selected for the demo. the game is (at the moment) highly unstable and very far from being finished(not to mention that a lot of content is not finished). At the moment the game will defintily not run(not even for 5 min) on an average pc. I don't think they choose april 2020 because they wanted a reason to justify not supporting win 7, but because they need time to finish, refine and test the game.

Whereaminow25: We still need it to be compatible with Windows 7
No, we don't. It's an ancient OS. We need new games and new engines built against modern tech and API. Not for ancient API with a poor wrapper, like most "DX12 games" now.

And if you have ancient PC, modern games are not meant for you anyway. You still have to upgrade. Especially when Windows 10 is completely free for Windows 7 owners.

O, another defender of progress & expensive videocards! Well, I hope you will get your glittering new games, but do NOT speak for others, because I for one do NOT need your RTX.
So where you see that thread? And does that thread come from the official or player? It's a barren discussion if that thread is just a conjecture.

The thread is only player, no statement or reaction from CDPR so far(don't think they will).
Win 10 is, until now, the only OS officially listed under requirements for Cyberpunk.

I find it funny how all these win 10 users suddenly show up to give us crap for wanting support on win 7.

I think the issue is that come next year,... no Windows 7 system should be connected to the internet due to lack of security updates. Legacy systems without continued security updates should be actively discouraged (windows or otherwise). This is basic IT security.

As for gaming, almost all systems are connected to the internet and almost no gamers will purchase continued support through microsoft ($50 the first year, then $100 the 2nd, and $200 for the 3rd). Hence, actively supporting Windows 7 is a bad idea.

I don't have anything personally against Windows 7 (that's what we use at work). I am against insecure systems as these are often used for more global spam and hacking attacks (which is bad for the entire community).

We should still have Win 7 Support for this game though. It is not like it won't kill them to do a little extra work to make it happen.

Sorry, but that sounds pretty arrogant. You can't simple tell people to work more or harder because you want it. Also i highly doubt that you have the qualification to tell how much work will be necessary to make the game Win 7 ready(i guess very few people know that and the most of them work for CDPR).

Well screwing us fans over at the last moment basically saying its win 10 or nothing is BS also don't you think? Don't you have win 10 already? Why are you even here? You don't want win 7 support, and your opinions is not needed if it isn't for win 7 support. Or did you come here just to complain about the rest of us wanting win 7 support?

ooh boy, the way you act makes me doubt you are old enough to buy the game. They annouced the supported OS 10 month before release and before you could even preorder the game, that not really "last moment". No one promised win7 support and it was a reasonable possiblity that a game released after EoL of Win 7 wouldn't support Win7. A lot of people hoped for Win 7 support, but they did know that this could happen. It's not an ultimate "last moment" surprise.

I would count my self as a fan(as far as you can be a fan while the game is not released) and i don't care if it get Win7 support or not, like(if you take a look at the statistic) most of the fans and that's why most fans don't feel "screwed".

Why i'm here? Let think about it, you act agressive, you are disrespectful to the work of others and act like a brat and i don't like that. I guess thats a vaible reason.

If you can not stand someone contradicting you i would recommend you to talk to your mirror at home, i guess he will agree with everything you say. (But do not be surprised if he screams back when you yell at him)

The best advice i can give you is calm down, grow up and act like an adult.
