Just wanted to throw in my $.02:

v2.0 pre and post patch worked fine on my system. Installing the DLC caused flatline crashes. I saved copies of Galaxy64.dll and GameServicesGOG.dll from pre-patch v2.0 as recommended elsewhere and swapped them in after installing the DLC, and viola the crashing problem is gone. Not sure if the DLC content is available but the game sure acts like Phantom Liberty is installed.

Note that I have only used offline installers.

pedrovay2003: Is the car missing? I immediately got the text in the game telling me that I have the car, but I haven't actually tried to call it yet. I didn't start a new game, though, I loaded an old save, maybe that's why it worked for me.

SargonAelther: Did you at any point install/repair the game via Galaxy? Because there's certainly no offline installer for it.
Also are you sure it was about the "Quadra Sport R-7 "Vigilante" and not any other car?
Mine doesn't say "Quadra," but it's definitely the preorder car. It gave it to me before I even discovered the crashing-without Galaxy issue, I got the in-game text as soon as I loaded my old save. Here are a couple of screenshots that I just took:

I did do a bunch of repairs/reinstalls through Galaxy, but that was only to try to fix all of this other crap going on. I got the car way before I started playing around with fixing the crashes.

I just wanted to add a little info. The compatibility mode for Windows 7 or 8 does in fact allow you to launch the game without Galaxy. However, there is a huge caveat. Those systems did not know anything about NVMe drives natively and had to have driver updates. From my experience, they really never could handle them properly. So, if you use the compatibility trick, your load times will be atrocious. Use the older Dlls from the previous install as the better workaround.

As for the Vigilante, I do have it too. It's not called the quadra, but it is the whip indeed. I dunno how that works because I never went online. So.....looks like everybody gets it. What a fuckin; kick in the mouth. lol

Then Galaxy must have installed it for you, because we're still waiting on that offline installer.

I don't know if that's hilarious or sad.

I'll go with hilarious, but only because I can actually play the game again and I usually use motorcycles instead of cars. This might be one of the most jacked-up update releases I've ever seen, though. It also gave me two of the new Witcher sword, both absolutely identical? I don't even know anymore.

Paulief81: I ran the executable as an administrator and it didn't crash and gog wasn't running

pedrovay2003: I just tried this and it crashed in the same spot, unfortunately.
yes it has done it for me as well now, it must have just been a fluke
I do not see the need for GOG Galaxy and I use Heroic for my purposes.

But I found out that the GOG Galaxy service needs to run, which is a pity because I use local streaming and streaming/Remote Desktop is known to crash GOG Galaxy (for years now).

Oh, interesting, I didn't know we were getting a separate installer. I'm glad they're doing that.
GOG support sent me a fix, and it seems to be the best way of doing things right now. I've updated my post here:

Did you try reinstall GOG Galaxy (and Steam/etc) and game OUT OF system drive to X/Games/? Yes, gaming clients too.

On thread linked in OP edit section - there is not older but cracked galaxy dlls from warez source.
Maybe I'm reading a little too much into this, but it seems to me as if this bug is intentionally in the game to make piracy more difficult, now that Update 2.0 is getting a lot of praise from all sides and therefore the sales rate is going up. This is exactly the approach I would expect from a CDPR after the launch debacle. Simply implement DRM secretly, even if only temporarily, to ensure that sales don't drop too much as long as the game is on everyone's lips. The base game doesn't even start for me anymore because I don't want to use Galaxy (I could have just bought it on Steam). But it seems like this "bug" isn't important enough to make a hotfix as soon as possible. That's why I also requested a refund for my Phantom Liberty.

I'm tempted to buy the DLC but I saw the reviews on the store page and was immediately put off by the DRM. Can anyone confirm if the DRM is still in the game with patch 2.01 and DLC installed?

I cannot personally confirm, but others have said that 2.01 fixed the issue of requiring Galaxy to start + the crash that would occur:

Do note that My Rewards and Twitch Drops accessories are still DRM'd.

It's still there. With the dll intact the game no longer crashes during the logo splash screens, but will not react when it says "press space to breach". Can press any button you want, it will not go past that.

Disable the DRM uh I mean dll or have Galaxy running in the background and you can press through as normal.

It should proceed to the main-menu a short time after you pressed space, just wait a moment.

Seem to be a sideeffect of the game trying to connect to galaxy before it continues without it.
