JoaoPauloZA: Just giving a little performance test for the new patch.
You're killing me! Please turn off the basic settings - Film Grain, Chromatic Aberration etc. And ESPECIALLY Motion Blur.

All of that crap is doing is ruining the visual experience.

Is the FPS limiter something new? I haven't seen that in CP77 before. I also use an FPS limiter (because "999 FPS" in older games and certain game intro videos is pointless), but I've set it in the Nvidia driver.

lol...nope.....max settings all day everyday any game. lol I couldn't settle for less. The FPS limiter is under video settings. It's been there since 1.5 I do believe. I've found that RivaTuner has a better limiter than either Nvidia or the game itself though.

I didn't know RivaTuner has a framerate limiter well (even frametime controls, I see).
Interesting, I've only used RivaTuner for the OSD features (and Afterburner for a custom GPU fan profile, raised power limits etc.).

Playing with a RTX 3080 myself (Asus ROG XII Hero Z490, i9 10900K, 64 GB 3200 MHz RAM, OS and Games on separate, dedicated NVMe SSDs), I would agree with you by default. I'm also usually playing on 27" 1440p, but I have 3x of them in Nvidia Surround if my mood takes me (7680x1440).

But yes, I typically also max out the settings first, then tune them as needed later to get the visuals as I like them. I currently play on custom High settings, with both DLSS and RT disabled, and reduced shadow effects.

In this case though, here's a video from GamersNexus on the subject of Chromatic Aberration, Film Grain etc.

You're basically just making your experience worse by having it on.

Nice setup, my friend! That's a killer rig! RivaTuner is what I would call a godsend in terms of fixing performance issues in many games. I dare say, It's essential to any gamer's library of tools. I only have the one 27 inch AW2721D 240 hz monitor though. I can't even imagine that kind of surround viewing you get to experience. Must be incredible! I'll definitely go check out the video concerning chromatic aberration. It's always good to learn something new. Thanks for the info, friend. For this game, I have honestly never tried it too much without RT. In some games the RT is barely even noticeable, but in this game, to me that is, it totally changes the experience. You don't like the RT much? You have the hardware, I say max it out and make it explode into flames. Hell, you only live once.

CP77 looks really good even without RT. And yes, I have tried it on in various conditions (night, day, open areas, small room etc.). And overall, I preferred by far the looks of it without RT. Also, it pretty much killed my FPS if I didn't also use DLSS - which inherently reduces the graphics quality.

I hope I won't spoil anything here, but in the closed building where you can save Takemura, it's near pitch black with RT ON. That is NOT how the human eyes work! They adapt to the lighting. And as there are floodlights that you can turn on, there would in reality be plenty of light in there.

And you get that more realistic looking environmental light bleed with RT turned OFF. It's not perfect, but with RT disabled you get the sensation of illumination from the flood lights bouncing off the walls. I got a 5000+ Lumen Fenix TK75 flashlight, I know how light actually looks in an otherwise dark room. And Ray Tracing enabled in Cyberpunk 2077 is not it, not even close.

I'm all for technology that makes games looks more real, ray tracing included, but it ain't there yet.

But seriously, try to disable RT and DLSS and some test runs without it.

Are there hidden limitations to uploading attachments? The .jpg is below the stated 2 MB limit, but apparently won't "attach" when I upload it.

Nephilim88: The PS5 is last gen!? LOL
avatar
JoaoPauloZA: Does it compare to today's gpus? Certainly not. If you love console and its equivalent 5700xt (2070 super) performance, feel free to play it. I can't be bothered with that mess. Point still stands patch kills performance. [...]
hmmm.
No tangent, I was making the point that what I linked, the changelog, clearly contrasted with what you were saying. The hardware of the console is irrelevant to the generation: as there are no new consoles after PS5 and Xbox X and S, they're the current gen, not "last gen". But you do you, and use your words.
Also, I don't remember insulting you but maybe that's how you roll in your cave.
Over and out.

Just tested the game and the performance seems to be strong enough that I'm getting screen tearing with vsync turned off, so I guess I'm not running into the performance issues of other people.

Nice to have the cross progression for those of us who have a newer console. Sometimes it's nice to game from the couch instead of sitting in an office chair with your feet down.

Heck I'm not taking this anymore.

Dear JoaoPauloZA, I was merely commenting on something you wrote that was not correct. There was no trolling or harassing by my side. I didn't call you names, I didn't insult you, I wasn't rude in any way. There's proof on this same thread.

You, on the other hand, immediately started insulting and calling me names. Don't try to turn this on me. You've been the disrespectful one here. You didn't even try to start a constructive discussion. If you think that someone even remotely disagreeing with you is trolling or harassing you, then you need to be taught how to live in society.

I can read the rules, and I was abiding by them. You weren't.

Have a decent day, or not. Whatever.

What a disappointment, game is broken as ever. Crashes more than ever, can't end quests, can no longer phone anyone because Delamain is still in queue, his fucking face is on all the time.

You didn't correct me on anything, brosky. I stated that this patch seems like a consolation prize for last gen-owners. You piped up with that it wasn't aimed towards them because certain features weren't happening. You are wrong in the fact that it was not geared towards last gen. It was, as it is the last patch they can receive. Then you wanted to go on a tangent about terminology next vs last gen on a PC forum when no one cares. The actual topic at hand is the patch. of which you don't even discuss. Then you lol at me. That's a very smug attitude. Doesn't open up any discussion at all. Funny how next gen is already two years old, huh? That's some back to the future right there. Meh....or perhaps it's actually current gen. Who cares? So yeah...you are a bit of a troll and a henpecker. I stand by that. I'm actually helping folks solve issues and benchmarking......unlike you. So you have a day, or whatever. Good or bad is irrelevant to me. P.S. quit necroing dead convos like the last guy.

Responding to a thread that's a few days old is not necroing.

The people who respond to 4 year old threads? THAT is necroing.

Tested performance of the patch some more, pc performance is pretty solid on a 5600x paired with a 1080ti.

It really is and almost 2 years later people are still in denial. This game should have never released.
