Currently I've been playing a jack of all trades character because I want to experience at much of the game as possible. Gotta have stealth to do missions that request you're not spotted. Body and tech to open doors and crafting upgrades and the stupid boxing matches. Int for hacking access points and other stuff I can't think of at the moment. Reflex is my primary stat for the pistol silencer which compliments my stealth runs. I use a pistol as my main weapon too.

I did a search for character builds on google but ended up with a bunch of garbage clickbait articles explaining what attributes and perks do.

What kinda character do you guys play?
I'm more of a stealth based character. I've been stacking bonuses that let me one-shot anyone while stealthing.
Mix of body, reflex and intelligence. Ignored the other 2 stats largely.
I wanted to create a heavy duty, cyborg-like guy (akin to Briareos from Appleseed Alpha), but it seems like V is always a little "thinner".

I've ended up with high tech skills (so that I can craft rifles and tons of armour), relatively high reflexes (to use these rifles) and body (if I don't feel like shooting, I can stealth-grab a guy, and get him for a walk behind the corner, where he's put to sleep).

I had to sacrifice being cool, and some intelligence (shame to admit it, but at least I can read, and I keep working on writing too!)

I tend to resolve conflicts with a few sniper shots, and if someone is left standing, then I take the opportunity to train some of my less developed skills. Once they are maxed (or if the enemy is tough), I return to my favourite assault rifle. I tend to use hacks mostly to soften or crowd-control the enemies. However, clearing an area using hacks from intercepted cameras is a lot of fun too. :)

I find it very cool that the game drives me into trying other skills - if I no longer gain experience from using rifles, then it's a gentle incentive to maybe try some pistols or grenades.
I'm specing mostly into Reflexes, Cool and Tech. The combination of Reflexes and Cool includes many perks to increase critical hit chance, crit damage and headshot dmg, so they complement each other nicely. Tech is important if you wanna use tech weapons. I still got Body up to 6, since that is a requirement for many weapons. Intelligence I also have at 6, since that allows me to hack many access points, which is a good source of money.
I built a Street Kid Netrunner. Stealth and Intelligence. Some in Breach Protocol and heavily into Quickhacking. When I entered mid-game, I pretty much stopped using guns. They were useless. Did one quest in end game where you have to shoot one target. Could not use Quickhacks. I noticed I had no gun equipped. No idea for how long. Luckily I had picked up a gun for dismantling earlier. Other than that one gig, I just used the environment (f.ex. use distract on some equipment next to a turret, when a guy comes close, overload the turret) and quickhacks. Legendary versions of Short Circuit, Contagion and Overheating. I even stopped using lethal ones like Synapse Burnout or Cyberpsycho.

Basically I was in and out without anyone noticing in some cases (there's always a back route), other times no one saw me come in or out, but people just started dropping like flies.

But that playthrough is done. Just thinking about the next one. I think I will take a look at these guns. There seemed to be many different ones so I guess next playthrough is going to be cars and guns. I think I will start a Nomad playthrough.

Quickhacks + Stealth is a deadly combo, not because the stealth enhances your sneaking around but because its double damage with poison perk you get at 18 makes contagion - which you can also enhance to spread farther and to more enemies and last longer - which is a poison skill, do double damage.

The legendary ping that lets you target through walls and floors together with contagion just destroys whole groups. 2 or 3 of those (make sure to take the perks that reduce cooldown on kills as well as the ability to crit and anything else that increases quickhack damage) and you can clear whole buildings without setting a foot in them and without anyone seeing you.

I just round that out with enough points in athletics for more HP & HP recovery but honestly, those are entirely optional since you very rarely get hit at all.

I'm currently In act 3 with my Nomad/handgun character. RT-46 Burya is my main weapon. Only holds four bullets but the power is worth it. The legendary version holds one bullet but the damage is ridiculous. I stayed away from that one. Overture is my go to when I'm sneaking around. Attach a silencer and pop heads when you can't get close or behind a character.

I think I'll do a Corpo/netrunner character on my next playthrough and ignore the reflex attribute.

"I understood that reference."
Right, I was thinking I'd be a badass cyborg but I don't feel like V could even equal Batou from GITS. I wanna punch through walls and grab the person on the other side like Adam Jensen.

Mix of body, reflex and Watson Whore.
always make my initial playthrough of RPGs a somewhat balanced character.

if the game's worth multiple playthroughs; i will use more defined characters depending on which aspects i enjoyed the most throughout that initial playthrough.

as of now V is mostly Body(15), Intelligence(15), & Tech(14) with a bit to Cool(8) & Reflexes(8).
can open most doors, hack most options, and still do a bit of stealth & crafting.

Where did you put your attribute points? Probably 20 to reflexes? My Netrunner has the lowest attributes in body and reflexes. Intelligence to 20 as soon as possible.
My netrunner was going max INT with some TECH and COOL every now and then.
When INT reached 20, TECH was about 10 and COOL 14. At this point I turned more to craft and ended up with INT 20, TECH 20 and COOL 18.
And now I'm facing a hard choice - go for immersion (COOL 20) or stats efficiency and get BODY and REFLEX to 6 for some extra perk points.
I play a cat burglar. They reference V several times as a thief and decided one game to stick to it. Most quests only require you to go in, grab objective and then get out. So I use stealth and Sandevistan to literally just do that. It gets a little more tricky when you need to carry a body around and for bosses I just use the tranquilizer rocket.

20 to reflexes yup. Cool, Int and Tech I spread out as I needed them. Think I ended up with 9 or 11 in body.
Btw, RT-46 Burya will shoot though cover and walls. Behind 10 feet of steel? Don't matter. If I can see you I can shoot though 10 feet of steel.

I started out that way but at some point I just started blasting everything.
Ya know, I've played titles with gas grenades and concussion mines but fucking TRANQUILIZER ROCKET that come outta my kinda normal looking arm is just awesome.

Only reason to raise Cool to 20 is if you use poison as your main weapon or you want Immunity or Merciless in the Cold Blood skill. My opinion.
